DeAnza AutoX and BBQ

Hey guys, I'm part of the RX7club.com forum but I'm also in this forum. I'm having a BBQ at the Cupertino Memorial Park an would like to invite any of you guys who would like to come. This is strictly a hangout and BB Q at the park. Any of you crazy racers that are thinking of coming and revving and burning your tires at this meet, dont bother on coming. I'm not gonna put up with that shit and neither will the RX7 people. This is just to come together, talk, eat, and enjoy each others rides.

When: Saturday, May 18th @ 1pm

Where: Cupertino Memorial Park
(across the street from DeAnza)
It will be held on the Freedom Dr. side.
(look at map)

What to bring: bring a bag of chips OR 2 bottles of soda.
Bring your car and a camera and a friend.

Remember, this is a meet of car enthusiasts. If you race and are gas-happy, thats fine BUT don't do it while you're there at the BBQ. I won't tolerate it. For questions or directions, call me @ 408-206-4253.

Hello. I'll have to leave by about 3 PM but I'll be there for the BBQ, probably with some other 240SX owners as well.

Can I get some info on DeAnza's autocross? Like does it require membership or have a participation fee, what time does it start, etc.

The DeAnza AutoX is free to everyone. &nbsp;The fee is $25 and registration opens at 5am. &nbsp;But you may want to be there by 4am because there will definitely be a long line to get in. &nbsp;The price is worth it but 4am is too early for me. &nbsp;I can't autoX when I'm sleepy. &nbsp;Plus, you only will get 3 minutes of track time AT MOST! &nbsp;I believe its only two or three runs. &nbsp;I don't remember how long the course is but this is a good AutoX to participate if you're a first timer. &nbsp;Otherwise, you can come with me and cruise through mountain roads. &nbsp;Free of charge!

Just an observation from what I saw last year...

Unlike the Auto-X the SCCA holds every month, this one is a continuous run. I noticed that everyone gets 3 runs through the course, unfortunately its all continuous. The 1st lap is for practice and people weren't timed on it, as they approached the start/finish line, they were given a "running start". The 2nd and 3rd laps were timed together.

The entire ordeal takes 5 min or so.... I remember hearing how the Hachi (AE86) people set it up so they had their own run group. While it would be awesome to get a run of 240's, I just don't think its that plausible... &nbsp;<img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sigh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':rolleyes:'> . I do agree that its a great price for Auto-X, especially if you don't have an SCCA license.

I'll definitely try to be at the BBQ (not ready to do the Auto-X yet) but it all depends on how much studying I do because finals start on Monday for me. Anyway, hope everything keeps updated!

Did the rain scare you guys off? &nbsp;Oh well, we had a cool meet, lots of rx7's, me the only 240 &nbsp;<img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sigh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':rolleyes:'> &nbsp;hopefully we'll get another meet together soon, FCSilvia should be posting up picts sometime soon.

yeah i woke up and it was RAINING. &nbsp;So I went back to sleep, but shit, when i woke up afterwards, it was sunny, lol. &nbsp;anyways, there's a good park up here and a nice road called 'redwood road' if anyone's down. &nbsp;alright, laters.

That would be me, ya I went there around 2 30 or so. I pulled in and only saw rx7's, a supra and a mr2 i think. &nbsp;I was gonna stop but since I didn't see any 240s I figured you guys had left cause of the rain, I just went over to the autox. &nbsp;Oh well next time I'll stop <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>. &nbsp;Too bad it rained tho. &nbsp;Well what do we want to do for the next meet. &nbsp;Someone had suggested a drive before in castro valley I think, maybe we could do that, well see ya later

Yeah that was me. &nbsp;There's a nice park here actually two but one requires parking $$$. &nbsp;But anyways, the road is nice up here. &nbsp;I'ts nice, long, and curvy and leads to another nice road. &nbsp;If you guys are down let's do this. &nbsp;
