ive been working for car audio shops for the last 3 years and currently working at circuit city but they cut some of my hours. So i have a lot of freetime now on my hands and wanted to help out s13 and s14 owners by giving them a good deal on alarm installs. It also gives you 240 owners peace of mind that another 240 enthusiast installed your alarm not doing a shady job.all my installs are very very very clean wiring. all my co workers like the style of the way i do alarms because you cant tell there is a alarm in there.

***I WILL ONLY INSTALL DEI ALARMS OR ALARMS W/SIMILAR QUALITY

BASIC ALARM INSTALL $70
ALARM W/REMOTE START INSTALL $100

other:
door lock actuator install $25 a door
proximity sensor install $20
trunk pop install $45

pm me or you can reach me on AIM:urbuddyryan

Too bad you're not in SoCal. Those are the best prices for install I've heard yet.

The alarm that came with the car when purchased used (Viper DEI) has always had a very short remote range (~15 feet). Do you have any suggestions on what the problem could be and if there are any quick solutions to increase this range? thanks

that alarm has a built in antenna most likely. look for the brain you should see a thin black strand wire which is the antenna. if that wire is wrapped around other wires or bunched up just straigten it out and zip tie it to something.that should give you more range.

When your down here I got a matrix 2.5x from my old car sitting here beggin to be installed in my new ride. Keep us updated when you make the trip. Can you get the lock actuators for that at a deal or should I pick em up?

i would suggest you get your alarm installed before your car gets broken into...i used to get actuators for 5 bucks but not anymore. you can probably find them at any car audio shop for like 25 bucks. i love LA, theres so much to do there and so fun.

also can do decks, amps, or anything car audio related.. also making a bunch a fuel cut offs if anyone is interested. this fuel cut off is cool because you need to wave a magnet over a certain area of your car to enable fuel to flow again.

just wanted to say thanks. your suggestion worked great. I found a thin black wire w/ a red strip on it. It was tucked into the S14 fuse box area. I just routed it up towards the steering wheel area (underneath) and I've gained over 3 times the range.

edit: I also stripped the wire about 1/2'' at the tip. Does that exposure help the range at all? could I even add/solder more wire and run it up to a higher elevation on the car?

i don't remember the model number offhand, but i guess it's a higher end one. i think the guy said retail was $600.
it has remote start but i don't need that. just lock, unlock, and trunk pop should be fine. and some extra wires hanging out to put on some more sensors later too i guess.

i'm pretty much free on weekdays after 6:30 and all weekend long. lemme know what works for you
