i was just looking over the classifieds here and noticed a dude warning against a bad seller.

i was thinking that if something like this happened on here between 2 active members, what would happen???

although it is not the responsiblity of the forum's mods to mediate this kind of dispute, i think anyone trying to prey upon zilvia folk should have their ip address banned.

# of posts would then almost be like a reference or assurance, because anyone with a lot of posts and acitve on the forum wont want the ban.

this might encourage buying and selling on the forum.

i dont know i'm bored and it crossed my mind.

The moderators might want to consider starting a "buyer/seller feedback" forum.  There's one on newcelica.org that seems to work quite well. http://www.newcelica.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=47

sounds like a good idea to me, just as long as people aren't too quick to call shinanigans on the other for not paying/shipping

lets just wait and see if it appears with the new forum :::wink wink:::

I was thinking, it wouldn't be too hard to incorporate another page onto the profile of someone... as there are 2 unused pages.  And that new page could be feedback.

I dont think it's a good idea.  Only dealers or people that frequently sell parts would need a feeback, and I can maybe count 3 of them.   ACtually they dont need a feeback if they sell a lot of parts.  The ones we worry about are the one-time sellers and he wouldn't have any feeback cuz it's his first time. Like the jdm1 guy tried to sell his junk here..

# of posts dont really tell if anyone's trustworthy..  just the ones with lots of posts..

I think thats a damn good idea. Alot of us are buying and selling parts on a regular basis, so feedback would be a great idea. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I was at least going to make a stickey post in the For Sale section that Listed any possible bad sellers and their emails and IPs. I just havent heard of one yet so I havent started it. But I will post it this week sometime.

That sounds like the best idea to me, because otherwise it would be too easy to give someone bad feedback. This way you'd have to talk to one of us and plead your case before we put the name on the black list.

If you ask me, ebay's system is horrible. Anyone that remembers what happened to me a while back knows what i'm talking about.

yeah i remeber, i think # of posts is a good indication, not necessarily of sincerity, but of importance of the forum to someone.

i certainly would not throw away the forum for a sale after 1100 posts.

yes i also see that people may prematurely be placed on some sort of list without cases beign considered.

perhaps a list of individual transaction partners so one could contact others about buying and selling feedback.

like if i sell me soul to transient, there would be a list stating he and i had a transaction. someone looking to sell something to him could contact me and i would tell them how he tried to pay me in pesos....j/k
