sixautoworks.com
phase2motortrend.com
gspeedcorp.com
and the list goes on...
if you are in CA you have no business going out of state for a SR imo, long beach port is supreme.
i would also try to buy the engine in person if possible. maybe even buy a ticket from southwest and fly down here, or just drive down here. i like person to person purchases.

venus seems pretty popular with the bay area people i know.
CHEAP and GOOD is liek saying you're looking for a hot fat chick
edit:
phase 2 motortrend generally keeps 2 or 3 hot fat chicks in stock at most times

Wow, you're really out doing yourself, asking this twice in 2 threads, then using the excuse, "I'm too lazy to search." If you searched you'd find way more responses than you did in this thread.

Venus Auto would be my number one pick. Most of the people I know have gotten their japanese motor sets from them. I do suggest you purchace a whole front clip instead of just a motor. It saves on the headache when you start finding that there are little things missing. But I've also found out that their service is either hit or miss, but in the end everyone I've known who had issues had them resolved with no hassle.
For somewere closer to the bay I suggest japan parts in SSF.
As for cheap and good... You'll be looking at around 2k or so. Most of the motors will have 40k miles on them. IMO if you have the luck to pick through some motors, try and find ones that arn't modded. Because chances are they haven't been already beaten to hell.

best place is to buy a blown up sr20 and rebuild it... then you'll have a new engine of known quality vs a unknown used engine.

I got mine from R-Crew. The clip was fkn CLEAAAN. Also came with HELLA goodies. Cheap ass price too.
Dan did a compression test in front of us to show the engine was cherry.
Excellent quality parts, great customer service, however, DAN is a prick sometimes but when it comes to you having a problem, you just go back to him and he'll fix you up.

You're located in Northern California and you don't want to check our www.venus-auto.com ?!
Their website sucks by the way, it's never updated. The best bet is to go there in person or call them over the phone to find out stock.
An SR20DET blacktop I picked up had a brand new OS-Giken transmission and a Ogura Super Single Clutch brand new. You win some and you lose some, make sure to do a compression check. :bite:

Nice to know you were able to give some info, but I don't think it was needed to bump an old thread.
