how much would you pay for a 91 240sx RHD CA18DET ??? the car is legalized already and the body seems straight but needs bodywork (paint front end conversion, stuff like that) if its being sold for 2100, is that TOO low???

you get me confused? why would it not be legal if its a 240sx? is it a rhd converted 240sx w/ ca18det or a real 180sx. Regardless its worth it for 2100. But you might wanna post pics

being that you live in LA, I don't see how it's "legal".
$2100 is a great price... a little too great if you know what I mean.
Additionally, don't expect to pass smog w/o help.

You'd be in the same boat as SR and RB ppl, el flunko on the visual inspection.

Proto's cars are decent. It should run. Just be prepared to work on it as it is a 11 year old car or so. Theres no CA18 in that bitch.. id suggest not making that your daily driver in cali either.. unless u love cops =D

When it said, "CA" it was talking about being registered in california. And isn't it illegal to have a rhd conversion due to cutting the firewall?

The mail trucks and various other service vehicles were made that way. But for a car that was made lhd and then converted to rhd it would be illegal being as how you would have to cut/modify the firewall for the conversion to work. And being as how a modification like that isn't said to be safe in a crash situation it would be illegal.

I suppose it all depends on how much Firewall "manipulation" is considered dangerous. After all, everyone who has swapped a 5-speed in an originally Manual car has cut the firewall somewhat. I think the legality of the engine would be more in question then which side of the car the steering wheel resides on.

it is a CA18DET powered car. you T00L. Its a firewall swap converted to RHD. It is a beyond bone stock CA. Go ahead and buy it, if you want. I'm sure they have other cars available as well.

that car is a member on this forum. I remember seeing it a few times 2 years ago.
It's a RHD conversion. A pretty ghetto conversion at that.

It doesn't say CA anywhere in the ad, and the car's crazy wheelgap in the front suggests no engine in the engine bay.

ha! or there is a much lighter engine in there like the CA, but since there is a gap it might had the KA in there before and had USDM spring rates because it's a USDM car perhaps...

If you didn't know it. When you drop in a stock SR (sidemount, blah blah) the front end will be higher because of the lighter weight. Better example check out the VQ35 swap in an S14 on FA. even with the engine in there, the car is 4x4 status.

I realize this. That car looks like it has no engine in it... The front end is up in the air compared to the rear. As far as SR swaps, I realize they may be lighter, but I've never actually seen one with stock suspension. Then again, everyone I know modded their car correctly, first taking care of shitty suspension before doubling the horsepower.
