I'm going to buy news rims for my coupe and my friends are telling me i'll lose power with the setup i want to run. They are SSR 16" with 225 front and 245 back. Is it too big for my KA24DE or I won't see any difference. I'm not sure yet but I think they weight 16lbs each.

check tire weight too.
add it up, compare it to stock tire/wheel weight, and you'll get your answer.
more weight = less power to the ground
less weight = more power to the ground
however, unless you wheels/tires are ungodly heavy/light, you'll never know the difference unless you push your car hard all the time.

if you got a stock ka you dont need to be goin fast anyways bro, if ure running 16 ssr's your prolly not going to feel a diffrence. and if you do its straight cause its still gonna be slow, i say get the wheels, have a slow good lookin car.

I don't know the stock weight size with normal tires on. Anyway, I did some research and the SSR should be around 16 to 18 lbs each and the tires 24 lbs x2 and 28lbs x2
Is it acceptable ?
power isn't very important for me because i'm not racing, i'm drifting but if it affect my drift, maybe I should think to go in 15" size. I'm planning to put inside a SR but I live at the present time so...

16's are not a big deal on a s chassis: Especially relatively light ssr's

You're just going to understeer and lower your final drive ratio.
Stagger with a stock KA just doesn't make sense.

What are you saying about lower my final drive ratio ? and I'll understeer because my tire are bigger than the back ?
edit: I'll go faster on 5rd gear because my tire a little bigger, isn't it ?

argggg
Okay, I can see your reasoning
"performance cars have bigger tires in the back... therefore it will improve my performance!"
Well this is true.... for cars with 50/50 weight distribution.
Just use the same tires in the front and back.

velocity is not the same as acceleration. in your example, being in 5th gear with rear wheels of a wider radius than stock will alow you to reach a higher SPEED (velocity), but will generally hinder your acceleration, which means you won't be quicker, but you'll be able to go a higher speed. Also, your speedo will be off.

I don't believe that racing wheels would be heavier than your stock wheels (if that is what you are running.) As for size, as long as you stay below a 19" wheel, acceleration difference should not be too bad.

aren't s13's very close to 50/50?

hatchback is right about 50/50, coupe is front bias IIRC

just put it on a bathroom scale...you dont need precise numbers, just a ballpark figure...

Thanks guys. I can't wait to run on those wheels ;)
bathroom scale
good idea

good God....these people need to learn a lot more about unsprung weight, rotational mass, wheel weight contact patch, center line, and sizing in general, before they go buy wheels.

And if you have no aspirations for track, autox, drag, drift, wutever...then it doesn't matter anyways, get the wheels you like for looks, since honestly thats what you're getting them for. Don't compromise if you don't have to depending on your goal
