Heater core...

Ok, My heater core is f*cked. Its gotten so bad that it will shoot out smoke below my stick when i drive hard or for a long preiod of time. Im kind of a newb with stuff like this. Dose any one know if i need the heater core and is this safe to drive in this condition.

Heater core leakage would show coolant loss, not smoke from the shifter area.

Do you NEED a heater core, no. Bypass it if you want, you just won't have heat in the car.
