Don't post a rumor this big unless you can post a fuckin source, and "some guy" or "the internet" is not enough.
Tanabe just set up shop in the U.S, I don't see how they'd suddenly die...especially since their coilover line seems to be doing well (every frickin DD in the U.S. sold)

With a backorder on their coilovers, and them being active on this forum, it's highly unlikely this is true.
But listen to OptionZero. Do not post this stuff. If it hurts their business, you can be sued for libel.

OMG
gasp, tanabe is phasing out old parts and coming out with new ones, oh noes!
how many times do i have to repeat myself, this is how rumors get started.
tanabe's like clay aiken's music career, they ain't going nowhere.
the only thing that tanabe has done is to phase out some of their drift spec parts.
their coilovers aren't on backorder, the DD's are just phased out to make way for the SEVENS, i am dying to get my hands on a set.

Yeah right. Tanabe is not going out of business. They just finished making a DD replacement called the Seven that's programmable with the vehicle's speed sensor. My friend is going over there next week to help R&D some new elite anti-cop exhaust that is super quiet but high power. Where are you getting this information??
There are a lot of companies in Japan going under, but Tanabe isn't one of them. In fact, I heard they just bought out a company, a big one.
I think there's a bigger chance of seeing some of the other companies like Apex and JIC go down, seeing as those companies haven't released anything really new in the past few years and their quality keeps getting worse and worse (broken welds left and right, blown suspensions/cheap made in china stuff.)
Tanabe isn't a huge name in the US, but they have been around for a very long time in Japan...as far as I know, they are one of the few that are STILL making their stuff completely in house.
btw Logan, that analogy sucks. Clay aiken is gay, and tanabe is pure sweetness.

Exactly what Logan said, Tanabe is not going anywhere for awhile.
Ohhhhhhh boy the SEVENS! I gotta get me a set!

Tanabe bought SSR
yeah, but thats tanabe japan, usa will never see SSR through tanabe usa, unrelated.
tanabe is a company who is looking long term rather than short term. by not giving into downgrading / shortcuts for that quick dollar, they keep quality high and keep from overextending / cannibalizing their brand. its very hard to not follow the current trend in the market, and they stick to their guns. very respectable.
and the best part is that tanabe uses kyb shocks, so at least you know who's behind the valving. none of that "its looks like this" guessing.

Tanabe is a very good sucsessful company. I dont see how they could "all-of-a-sudden" just drop dead.

Locking this. Enough people have stated the obvious. Tanabe is here to stay.
