It's not a concept. The production car will be shown. It will be out next year around this time as a 2k7 model.

The side profile is nice, but the front just looks stupid. I like the head lights but the whole center "grill" thing just looks dumb. Something about it is just off, and that goes for the rest of the car as well. This car is only gonna look nice in black, IMO. Then all of the retarded contrasts and stupid lines wont be seen. I think it could've been better, but then again every car designer nowadays has NO friggin imagination or sense of originality WHATSOEVER. Look at all the new Toyotas/Lexus', BMW's, Nissans/Infinitis, Audis, Mitsubishis, Mazdas.....they all look like they were designed by the same friggin group of people! Same stupid bubbly lines and crap! So this outcome of the new GT-R was sorta expected.

the reason the car doesnt look right is the wheels. they dont flow at all. i mean AT ALL.

oh and whoever said it looks like cobalt, :keke: , cobalt was a rip off cavalier with vette taillights.

i'd say its a mix of g35, r34, and distantly resembles Caddillac STS ( or whatever its called, the 2 door) as far as the side of the car goes. muahah (certain resemlance)

What a horrible looking car! They've butchered the car really bad...

- Ok, side view is ok but that roof line .. WTF is with the black front pillar and the rest silver? this isn't a horse carriage, its a car! It makes the cockpit look tilted upward like someone wearing a baseball cap an probably the ugliest thing on this car besides the front grill.

- The front end .. what the hell are they thinking? Headlights are ok. The front grill, what is that supposed to be? The line follows the black to the ground on the headlights but it looks like its sagging in the center and melted the way it looks. Looks like someone took a cutter and cut a huge hole on the front bumper,Carbon fiber or not - It just doesn't look clean at all.

- The rear ok, that doesn't look too bad. The offset taillights are nice touch and the inset exhaust pipes are nice.

- front fenders, way ugly, they bulge out like the Z4 (way ugly car) and reminds me of the RX-8 front fender. Goes back to the retro looking detached front fender cars from the early days of automotive history. That fender should flow with the rest of the car, not stick out. hey, the Ferrari Enzo has some crazy front fenders, and it's f1 styled. I can sorta see some of that in the front of the GTR.

Overall, the whole car's shape is very similar to...Hyundai Tiberon!...which is actually a neat lookin car, but the GT-R is just buffed up to the max

I think its one of those deals , where you see it in person and it looks better. I remember seeing pics of the 350z before I saw it in person and not being to decide if I liked it or not. Seeing it in person definitely made me appreciate it more. I am reserving my judgement till I see this car in person. I also agree with OptionZero in that the car is pretty much cut in half from a design standpoint. Edgy and busy up front, smooth and to the point in the rear. I don't have a problem with the cut edges and smooth surfaces of the rear.

it is odd, however, to see half of each.

The Rx-8 is beautiful to me, the fenders and such seem like an aggressive touch. Of course, the rx-7 is probably the most beautiful car ever...

Lambo's Gallardo/Murcialago has those straight cut edges and flat surfaces, vents are angular but there aren't that many of them and they're integrated. Ditto on the F430 (but i hate the front bumper).

Some TVR's and of course Subie and Mitsu have crazy vents...but they fit in the scheme they're designed in.

Pick one and go with it and i'm sure it'll be hawt.

Front bumper sucks tho, give me front overhang (ala rx-7!) Squared off bumpers are fugly.

I love this car. Not so sure about the front bumper though but it is starting to grow on me. Besides in a couple months after it is released you will be able to find a crap load of body kits for the car that will replace it. I love the yellow, blue, red, black, and white photo edits. It just looks so sexy. I am in no rush for it as even if I do by one I will wait a year or two of production to have them work the bugs out and have them make it even better just like the 350z now has more power than the original ones that everyone went after. It pays to be patient and if nothing does change than you can pick up one slightly used for a lot less. I know once I leave for the navy I am gonna hoard up my money for this car unless it isn't turbo then i'll just get a imported r32 or r33 GTR. It will be cool to see these get built to hell if I get stationed in Japan like I am requesting.

I still think that protoype is teh ugly. Sideview and rear is ok, but definitely got to fix that front fender and front bumper.

The Enzo looks like a racecar.. it doesn't look like a sports car. It's cool in that way but isn't exactly a good looking car to most non-car people. The Carrera GT, now that looks like a sports car exotic.The GTR prototype doesn't look like any, it looks like some futuristic electric car. I never liked the 350Z. The rear end is just so fat and its a big moving bubble on wheels.

I think the whole point of the abstract styling of the GT-R is to cause a stir in automotive enthusiasts. They're definately going for the "I don't care how I look, I'm a GT-R" image. I think it's smart, and this car will definately grow on people. They seem to emphasize distictiveness.

I agree, nobody will ever build the perfect car that everyone will love. No matter what the final design will be someone will find something wrong with it. The only thing I car about at this point is it better be turbocharged or I could care less. I am not gonna wait till a warrenty expires to turbo a car I would pay that much money for. Same reason I don't want a 350z.
