i'm going to their shop its weekend and see for myself if their paint jobs are any good.  I've heard they suck and basically you get what you pay for.  but I really don't have much money to spend on it and the car really needs a make over.  the original paint is really bad due to arizona heat.

anyone here had experience with maaco?

if you do most the preping yourself then you can get a really nice paint job for cheap . Macco guys know how to paint they paint ALLOT of cars aday. but they dont have time to prep so they just shoot at anything.

Be prepared to notice some overspray on some parts. Since they paint cars so fast, they're gonna get sloppy. So you're gonna have to do some of your own post-paint job body work yourself, aside from prepping the car.  Like almost everyone says, you get what you paid for.

After my sister decided to come home from college she wrecked my, get this, '86 Subaru GL10. After some hunting junk yards for parts I ended up w/ a red hood on a beige car and being a highschool student at the time didn't have much money so I took it to Maaco and got it painted for $150 Yeah it looked like shit and had runs but hey I thought it was pretty good for $150

My s14 was painted at maaco. It turned out great. Since i didn't pay for it (got sideswiped) i think it was a good value. It all depends on which maaco you go to. The one I went to was excellent.
