Last night a friend of mine brought over his s14 so i could put on his new Q45 brakes for him,...we ripped apart his front brakes,..had everything off including the stock calipers and then we hit a wall,..i didnt have anything in the garage to cut the dust shield and i wasnt about to take everything apart to get the shield off because it was late and i had to work in the morning,..so i throw back on all his stock brake parts,...we proceed to bleed his lines,...we went in the right order to bleed,..i know i bled the brakes right,..but he is still not getting any brake pressure,...i even bled his MC and there is still no pressure,...when the car is off we pump the brakes till it stiffens,..and yes it does stiffen after a few pumps of the brakes,..but if we just wait like 10 seconds after it stiffens and then pump the brakes again he loses all the pressure and it goes to the floor again,...has anyone ran into this problem before? any help would be appreciated,..i just want to get this car out of my garage and he needs his daily driver back,..TIA

you sound like you know what you're doing, so forgive me if this sounds simplistic, but did u check to see if any brake fluid is leaking from the lines/calipers?

When i first changed the brakes on one of my older (non-240) cars, i was being a retard and accidentally forgot to fully tighten the bleeder screws on the calipers, so when i pumped the brakes i had like no pressure b/c the fluid was seeping out. Again, i doubt thats really your problem, but its definately worth trying.

It could also indicate that the MC is starting to crap out, couldnt it? I've heard ppl say this, but i've never had the problem, so i dunno...

yea i made sure all the lines going into the front calipers were tightened because those were the only lines that came off,..and we did tighten all the bleeder valves

ABS killed you. Unplug the ABS actuator, then bleed.

how did you bleed your brakes? Did you gravity, vacuum, pressure, or manual bled it? If you manually bled it, it is possible that you may have damaged the internal seals in the MC, if you depressed the pedal down further than its normal operating stroke. The reason why is because over time, bunch of dirt accumulates deep into the bore of the MC (because the piston does not usually get pushed in that far), and when the brake pedal is depressed further than its normal operating stroke (eg. during manual bleeding), all that dirt deep inside the bore will damage the internal seals on the piston. So it is critical for the "brake pedal depressor" person to not depress the brake pedal down too far, otherwise, damage to the internal seals of the MC will result.

Great way to drag up a nearly two month old post and give zero new information.

I answered it already. ABS cars can't be bled unless the actuator power is unplugged.
