ok.....to start this off, mods feel free to lock or delete this thread since it is probably the most irrelevant thread ever started.
ok, so on tues afternoon i f'd up my ankle pretty bad playing basketball. i can't really walk, so i have a lot of time on my hands. i decided to make use of my digital camera and take some pictures. i'm doing a day by day documentary. in less than 24hrs it's getting discolored already. so yeah.....enjoy.
about 6 hrs after it happened:

and tonight; 30 hrs after

so yeah.....i'll toss up 1 or 2 more each day until it starts to go away. prepare for some severe purpling, which then turns to nasty green. ewww

yes yes, i am representing the cracker population on the board. and even though my foot looks like it belongs to someone that weigh's 400lbs, i'm "only" 220lbs.
and pj, no you can't borrow my car.....unless all the turbo stuff you put on there, you leave it on.
ouch... back in my skateboarding days I used to do that about once every 2 weeks. I take it you can't drive with a clutch foot like that eh?

I broke it playing B-ball before school started, crazy health teacher tells me to 'Walk it off" Thing was the size of my fist.(I have Really Really big hands for a 14 year old) Hope you didnt break it. Hope you get better soon. I so understand! After about 2 years of not playing basketball I have started up again playing every wed. I have severly sprained my ankle 3 times... but it never swelled up that bad. Remember man black=broken. And you CAN walk of broken. Anyone who tells you different is one of those new age hippie "I believe in letting things heal" people, and you should ignore them. Two more days and you should be good to go!

Should have put an ace bandage on it, it wouldn't have swollen up as much

thanks for the advice guys, but i'm fully aware of how to take care of a sprain. but i've been doing it for 2 days and it's not better so i went to the doctor this morning. he said "wow is that thing swollen" said i most likely tore all three ligaments on that side of my foot. so i got some super anti-inflamitory drugs, and he said i should go to physical therapy for it too. also said i should wear an air cast on it for a couple weeks.
btw....i was at the university rec center, so i didn't have access to any kind of ace bandages (if you go ask for them or ice or anything you have to fill out a bunch of forms, and you get follow up phone calls, at least that's what happened when i got an elbow in the head and it busted open ). just tighten up the laces and go home. probably didn't help that it was a 10 min walk to my car.
but i can still drive so it's all good. just can't walk.

On Monday, I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out. So I have been home for 3 days now. I woulda posted pics, but I was sickened to look at them... and its my damn mouth... LOL!
Sorry bout that ankle. I have done that a few dozen times too!
Ask your work for special treatment when you go back. They HAVE to give you the special treatment!

Thats nothing I had a compound fracture on my left ankle 3yrs ago. I was doing Capoeira at the time and did a reverse backflip and came down way wrong.
8 screws later and a metal plate, I was back to "normal". I think you maybe busted your achilles or the supporting ligiments. You should really have them do some xrays on it to see if it is detached.
It took me 2yrs to fully recover and I am still having flexibility issues with my ankle.

Thats good to hear. At least now you wont have to use crutches for 2 months. Now that I have screws in mine my foot bends in and I walk awkwardly!
Hope it heals soon!

Man I feel your pain. I had that happen to me during December last year and didnt start actually doing any activity til early Feb. Torn a shit load of ligaments (sp?) and still can't stretch it correctly w/o pain. lol. Can't replace these parts. Warranty sucks on human flesh.
