I just got my blacktop motorset. Im pleased as punch & everything, but im curious: Is there a way to decipher the serial #s stamped on the block or head to KNOW what year the engine was made?
to be thorough, my block is stamped 217342W
the head is 301480. at least i think theyre 0's, theyre square.

You have to cut it in half and count the rings.
Serial # makes sense to me, just not sure where you could look it up. Help this guy out Zilvians!! :D

Are you implying SR's grow on trees? I should go bury it in the back yard!! Next summer i'll have dozens of em!!!
heh.
BTW, the turbo's ID tag doesnt appear to have a date stamp either.

try to google it. I think I read on NICO somewhere that some guy did a write up on how to 'de-code' your serial numbers
