Sorry I am just converting from honda's after many years so I am kinda starting from scratch. I am going to buy a 240, I am just deciding on the year I want and model. I have also decided that I want to build the ka rather than swap because I want a fresh 0 mile motor, iron closed deck block and added displacement. My questions are:
1) does anyone have pics of the stock ka rods? Are the sohc and dohc rods the same?
2) on Jwt's site there are a lot of different ECU's for the KA, what is each for? (should I just e-mail JWT or does someone know?) Also is the 700 HP SR20DET , KA24DE, RB26DET CONTROL SYSTEM everything needed for fuel (minus pump and FPR) and electronics? or is the ECU just calibrated for the MAF and needs a AFC? Would it work in a S13 with a ka24de
3) Did the 91-94 s13 come with a ka24de or ka24e? And am I correct that all 92-up 240's have a lsd?
That is all I have on the top of my head, I will add more later

1)
2)
3)KA24DE, the SUPER HICAS models (hatchbacks) came with VLSD, others, it came as an option

so there is a benefit to buying the hatch (as I am really partial to the coupe). So every 92 up hatch has the vlsd correct? so since I want a ka24de with lsd I should look for the 92 up hatch correct? thanks again

You're a terrible reader. First off, all this has been covered over the past dozen years, over and over again. You could at least made the efort to research a little.
Only HICAS models come with VLSD, which was an option only on the hatch. In other words, only about 5% of cars sold actually have it.

Hatch is heavier but weight is 50/50 or very near it. Coupe is...lighter but more heavy IIRC
read the FAQs archives and KA24DE-T FAQ atop the tech section
engine swap a 0 mile engine: http://www.phatka-t.com/engineparts.htm
and tell me how it goes

1) SOHC and DOHC rods are totally different. GOOGLE em, or maybe hybridka.com might have pictures. Not sure.
2)Email em.
3) HICAS factory option. VLSD = crap Save up for a good clutchtype.
Be prepared to spend cold hard cash, as 240s are cash guzzling bastards. It will NEVER run peak performance unless you've dumped cash into to repair what 16ish years of age will do to it.
Other than that, Welcome to the world of wasting tons of cash on a 16 year old car.
