my 95 S14 has the light green/gray interior....AND I HATE IT! i've decided to do some cosmetic work to my car instead of trading it in... making it the car i've always wanted, and this includes a black/tan leather interior. aside from spray painting all of the components, what is a good ballpark figure for replacing the peices? would i be better off getting a set of aftermarket leather covers for the seats instead of finding replacements? also, what is the difficulty level of a project like this? some of my worries are the small things... sun visors, seat belts, etc.

I used to have the green interior; that shit was so nasty. My friends (surly and thesquidd) found a complete s14 at the local junk yard with full black interior. They picked it all up for around 250 bucks.

it's really not that hard, it's bolt off old parts, bolt on new parts.

+1 for the dye/paint....i decided to try it on my s13(dupicolor from autozone) and it came out fantastic...couldn't even tell it was painted....it's been about 3 mos. and no sign of flaking or anything....gonna try the seats next since i have some s14 seats that i can get if i mess up the s13 ones

dupli-color vinyl & fabric color.

works like a charm. wash all your parts with dish soap before you do it though. use spray paint on the plastic pieces and this stuff on the vinyl/headliner.

thanks for the advice, guys. i'm probably gonna try to go with finding the parts from a doner car. simple things like headliner and rear shelf i can do myself. the main things i'm worried about are the steering wheel and dash... is there anyway to get the wheel off? it seems the air bag would cause a lot of problems... such as blowing up in my face.

I had my dash painted. I use Krylon Fusion paint.

Two cans. Spray at 12inches away. Go the same direction the whole time. light coats first.

I sold that dash after I picked up a real black dash.

You're joking right? Take the bag off, then the wheel. It's meant to be removable, you think the car is totalled if the wheel wears out?

^^^ give him a break. Just search, there are tons of write ups for everything on these cars.

I painted mine with the duplicolor stuff and it came out excellent. It has been about a year and half since i did mine and i am starting to notice the high traffic areas are starting to fade. Not by much though. My dash is still clean, the part thats that are fading are the door handles that is it. Anyone who comes in my car have not noticed i painted it and they never believe me.

I started to buy the rear pieces and i didnt pay much. The rear b/c pillars cost me $10, and the lower rear parts cost me $15. Some guy was selling them on ebay for .99cents and jipped me for 15 shipping. He was a zilvia guy too.
