I'm trying to see if anybody has used the snap-on diagnostic tool for their sr20det. Or any diagnostic tool as a matter of fact. I was wondering what you put in for the vin or something? So it can read it. My brother told me you put in the vin of your car and such. He's the one with the sr and doesn't know what vin or whatever to input in.

The only thing for an sr is consult/conzult. You can run ecu diagnostics with just a screwdriver. Search for "Ecu diagnostics"

I don't believe the US consult or consult2 will connect to the JDM ecu's.

Though, if someone wants to stop by the dealer i work at I'll give it a try.

It should.

I have the PLMS Nissan DataScan and have been using it for some quite in my Nissan Primera and now on the S13.

I've used SnapOn tool on my KA, works fine throught OBD1. you can mess with couple of things, IE water temp sensor output,etc.

I am yet to take it there with the SR. But It needed couple of VIN numbers 3rd,5th,10th IIRC to determine model/engine you got in it.

Yea, that's what I'm trying to find. If anybody has used the tool on a 240 with a sr in it. What did they put for those sepcific numbers

There's a vin from a jdm clip. Just use a friends s13 ka24de's vin or one from the Carfax thread and see what pops up. You won't mess anything up.

Ok, cool. Thanks, he tried it with his vin and apparently it didn't work. It originally had the sohc motor so I'm guess that's why.
