Checkin through Autotrader.ca (Canadian) and there are 2 '97 S14a's for sale, they're both at the same place, one has 137,289km on it and the other one is unlisted, so that means even more. They're both selling for $17,900!!!
Is it because there were only some 5000 or so made?

pretty much, that is one of th reasons I want an S13, although I think s13s look better than s14s

Of course it is because so few of them were built. Especialy in canada, and the reason is that they are in high demand. Mine cost me 14g's about 4 months ago for a base model (canadian) they sell for that muc in the states right now too if you are in the right areas. Cali area I have heard up to 18-19 for se models.

if you want a cheaper S14a, get a 95-96 SE, and buy the parts for the front end (hood, lights, bumper, grill) and bam! S14a! Also need the sideskirts and tail lights, but in the end, its probly gonna cost a lot less to do this then just buying a good condition S14a original.

But, anubis9228, where are you gonna get the S14a lights and stuff? Have fun finding them in a junkyard.

i got my 97 240 for around 800 bucks american...haha...not even lying...i bought it wrecked, but i personally dont car if it was wrecked, all it needs is a door fender, back glass, and rear quarter, and i have all of that, so i got a s14a with 40,000 miles on it for about 3 grand...not to bad i must say oh and it came to about 3 grand because i bought another 97 se 240 for 500 bucks for parts that was hit hard in the front, and i got rapped on shipping, total to get both cars where i live was 800 bucks, and i had to pay a buyers fee at the auction, i still say it was a good deal...

all the parts for the conversion are around $1500 brand new from nissan i think. thats pretty good if you ask me. But im sure junkyard would be cheaper if you could find an S14a. Of course the only other option is the good old five finger discount. hahahah.
how bout the 95 LE, whats the big differences with the LE and SE? SE performs better?

During 95-96 there were only base and SE. the se has alloy wheels, rear sway bar a LSD option, sunroof, foglights etc. Base model is hardcore S14 with none of the extra goods. Performance wise its pretty much the same.

well im willing to bet that a base 5 spd vs a SE 5 spd would be a better performer just by advantage that it probably weighs a bit less then a SE loaded with all that luxury crap and options....

S14 did have an LE version in canada. and yes this all this extra "crap" on my s14 se adds extra weight, but its convenient, I like it, but not necessary if you dont need it.

I got my S14 for $3600. 21k miles... nuf said he he. It had light front end damage, but all the parts had been replaced, and all I need to do is deal with the airbag situation. I'm probably gonna sell off my stock front end panels and get S14a parts before I have the car painted. I just really like the S14a front fascia, very mean. By the end of the summer, I'm thinking of having it painted black, and getting Volk GT-P's or Advan Model 6's in bronze. I think it will look quite nice <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/satisfied.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':satisfied:'>

Remember guys he is in Canada and talking about Canadian spec 240sx.
In Canada, our LEs are better than SEs.
The LEs usualyl come with abs, vlsd, leather, sport suspension, 5-lug rims, etc..
I got my '95 S14 LE fully loaded with 5-spd, leather, sunroof, cd/tape/6spk, vlsd, abs, spoiler, front spoiler for $12k CDN <before tax> and it had 113k KILOMETER <not miles> on the odo.
I think that was a pretty good deal considering it took us forever to find one. We were looking for S13s but since we couldn't find any we went for the S14...glad I made that choice.
btw, when i say sport suspension, i mean it came with front/rear sway bars and stiffer shocks.

Check this boys....1997 S14a SE with white Leather int. package, Clarion 6 disc cd changer and Clarion speakers; power everything including sunroof; vlsd; abs; 5 spd.; 36000 mile full coverage bumper to bumper warranty; 5 lug 16" se alloys; 55k miles;
Original Sticker price when I came into the dealer that morning was 12,500; I drove the car home later that night for 10,500 - warranty included.
I always wanted a 240 since I was 12; now I have one; I rule.

Car is in perfect condition except the front passenger side fender has a small crack in it; First owner was a 30 year old woman who took damn good care (she even sent me the second alarm key); Second owner is me. Never wrecked except for bumping a curb hard once (reason for the fender crack).

Great... let's all brag about how our cars lost 50% of their retail value in five years! Great... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sneaky.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':pissed:'>
Why is the s14a so expensive? B/c it is a 5 year old (or less) car what retailed for almost $25K! The Zenki s14 can be had for $5,000! 20% of its retail. Meanwhile, I sold my old Civic for about 1/2 of retail (w/o mods, would have been about 35-40% of retail) and it was a 94!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/butbut.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':but:'>
As an s14 owner, I would like to see this trend reverse b/f my car is worth less than a 1990 CRX! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
