OK GUYS,
1st i'm not a mechanic or have any working knowledge of working on cars. i blew my head gasket a few months back. i just now got the money and the tools to work on the car. i was taking the intake hose/plastic pipe off and oil sludge dripped from it, mainly around the throttle body. i opened the valve and there is oil inthere. is that going to present a problem for me to complete the head gasket and getting this car running properly? i've managed to wipe the majority off but there is still way inside that i can't reach. i'm almost tempted to take it off completly and run a water hose through it. drying it off extensivly of course and the putting it back on. suggests as to what canbe done to clean this please or will it even be a problem. i'm flying solo on this job :( everyone i know locally is too busy. and i need this car running by saturday night since i start my new job monday. your help would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.
