I know exactly what you're talking about, man.

it's happens all the time, a new american jarhead or whatever comes here, buys a skyline..usually auto, then 3 weeks later everyone makes fun of him cause he cant find his car in the lot next to the 2,000 other y plated R32/R33's...sells his car and buys an S14...Non GTR's - weak sauce, I spank 'em day and night...hope you guys find a sucker to pay 12 grand for a 16 year old RB20

I think its geared toward the American/Canadian market.
All the extra monies probably covers importing fees and such. Plus the company is trying to make a profit too.

So will the s13 need a top end freshening in the near future, being that it has over 111,000 miles (already converted)?

Car is basicly illegal here, just like I'm sure you guys don't have Mustangs and what not.
Only a car that has been imported and converted by Motorex, with all documentation is legal. The Skyline R32, R33 and R34 are the only JDM cars that can be legally imported into the United States, and they must, and can only be imported by Motorex.

Ya'll following. Thus, any JDM car that has been imported and registared by whatever means is ILLEGAL. Yes, you found a loop hole and your county sheriff don't care.. bla bla bla

As for price, seeing Motorex is the exclusive importer, they can charge whatever they want. Saddly a Skyline GTS R32 does not go for 12k realisticly, it goes for close to 20k, with a R33 GTR going for like 80k. :jerkit:
Motorex is no longer importing cars (hmm, go figure.)

Also Canada is completely different. They have a 15 year rule, IE if its 15 years old, bring it on over. Skylines go for 5-20k Canadian, depending on type, 5 for a beat GTS, 20 for an absolutely flawless modded GTR.
In Canada the high price is simply shipping and what not. Basicly 5000 yen for GTS at auction, 15,000 yen auction fee (the guys that bid), $1,000 for shipping, $800 for Canadian company that does this, then whatever registration and document fees. Thus a crappy $500 JDM GTS now costs you $5,000 when its all said and done. But it's "worth" $5,000, cause you can then sell it to whomever for 4,000 latter on, so different markets.

No. There is a list of cars you can "import" from Canada, most of these are simply USDM cars. Like a Chrysler Intripid (here its a Dodge Intripid), or a Acura "Whatever" (just a fancy Honda Civic), Honda Civic SIR (same as Si here), so forth. Only "different" car you can get is the Toyota Echo Hatch, we only have the Echo Coupe/Sedan and xA.

However Canada has luckily killed the overpriced RHD unregistared thing I think, I still see cars popping up on HT and people wanting +10k for a Silvia or something, go to Canada, buy one of a dozen for 4-5k US, drive it or truck it back here and hide it in your garage or whatever. :whip:

110,000 Klicks, Twin Turbo, has a small scrach on back fender, no stereo deck.
$6,400 USD out the door.

I'm not registaring to see those links, but somehow I imagine this is a lot less then whatever they are selling.
