save yourself the headache. the SR is a big headache itself. a broken one you want to rebuild is an even bigger headache. unless you know what your doing, or have a really good shop, dont get the blown one. you might wonder how he blew his cyl? its not that hard to blow a cyl but its not that easy as well. these SRs know abuse. that one was punished severly. and im sure its not just the cyl... prolly youll need a new water pump, oil injectors, etc. shit buy a different SR. i just dont think you'd have the patience/cash/experience to get into blown motors. not yet at least. ok! good luck!

Yup and by the way, you live in the bay area and I saw that one on Craigslist.... don't buy it. Look at the car, there ain't no car left behind the drivers seat, and that ain't cool.... clips are usually 2500, that is your best way to go..... I have a source in south san francisco that can get some, but probably need at least two motors sold. therefore two deposits on motors.... I got mine there, cool guy... It is a shop so they won't run with the money.

fuck rebuilding it, its cheaper to get another block more than anything else. Another short block depending on where you get it will run you between $500-800. $1000 for a full engine with all the trimmings.

hmmm, typical sr rebuild is about 2,400 in parts and 1,500 in labor, then you have to factor in the 10% JDM increase. plus or minus new turbo or gaskets. basically, it will cost you about 5 grand. pm me for details, i can help you out.
$5 grand cash only, btw
