I have a 98 240sx with a KA engine. I was wondering if anyone has this exhaust with turbo charged car. I hear that the piping is 80mm, but i dont know how restrictive the muffler is. Im looking to run a maximum of 15psi eventually. Does anyone have any input on this?

what turbo? if your not looking for insane power it should be good enough

Buddys got it. Car runs just fine and makes decent power. The muffler is a straight through design but I think you are worried that its restictive since it isnt a canister and actually muffles sound. You will be fine with it. Give'r

i had an Exmag when i had an SR20. Mine must have been an older version or something but it was only 70mm or so. I guess it was ok. IMO the muffler and the resonator on the Exmag is some what restrictive but its worth not having the exhaust tickets.

I'm not sure about older ex-mags, but the recent ones are 80mm w/ no resonator/pre-muffler.

The muffler is not restrictive at all. It is a straight through design, just like Apexi N1's or other canister exhausts. However, it might be restrictive at piping right before the muffler. There are some low angle bends, to keep the muffler exiting straight. If you went with an N1 or similar angled exit exhaust, you will probably get pipe bends of a higher degree before the muffler...keeping the piping straighter.

Im going to be using an FMAX or IAP turbo kit. I will be upping the boost to about 15psi. Im tired of the tickets too, and am looking into the RS-R. I just dont want to restrict my boost. I was wondering if anyone out there is pushing this kind of boost with the RS-R EX MAG.

I'm running the newer 80mm unit on my car and I LOVE it. Beyond the canister it is in fact straight through. I Have an SR20 w/no cat and it provides a delightful rumble unless in high RPM where it belts out a hearty roar. Considering I have 5 Pts. on my license this was the perfect choice for me.

Ex-Mag would be the way to do it. Like everyone has posted, it's way subtle visually compared to other exhausts... Noise wise & visually they'll be less attention from Police, other ricers, and people in general. The design is not really restricted at all and come on now if your gonna be driving on the street whats a few hp that your losing vs noise?? If anything you'll be saving yourself money in the long run from tickets and potential thiefs if your car isn't already flashy.
