Right headlight wobbles and makes a squeking sound when its in up position. i know there is a tensioner spring but the FMS doesnt mention it or have it in diagram. I searched "headlight wobble(s)" "headlight moves" and as last resort just -- "headlight" --> with about 100 or so results so i gave up, checked fms, nothing. I took off cover and black housing but didnt see any spring. Is there any way to get to it and were exactly is it located or has anyone solved this problem. it has about 1/2 inch play. Also tried tighting the rod that attaches to the motor but it doesnt solve the play.

check that little bracket that the motor actually attaches too. if thats loose from the rad support or broken, it will make your shit jiggle like no other. happened to me, we had to weld that bracket back together.

check to see if the headlighht motor rotates equal radius on both sides. Mine rotate differently and I have change motors on both sides. I have even used the adjustment rod to make them and stiff as possible yet mine still wobble. My only option is too weld them in the up position, but I have a peeve about causing unnecessary drag, oh well.

well before i go into welding shit together i just want to know whats up with the spring, look at this link notice that for headlight assembly there is a tension spring for like $1.50

http://www.1staaanissanparts.com/?OVRAW=240sx%20door%20lock&OVKEY=240sx%20door%20lock&OVMTC=standard

noticed link dont work but if you go into collision parts for 1992 240sx- headlamp assembly and parts you will c the "tension spring" part

while looking at the fms it didnt show any spring in the diagram. maybe instead of welding it can be solved by replacing the tension spring, thats y i wanted to know if anyone took the lamps apart and notices the spring or had to replace it before,

thank for the .02 cents though

on the passanger side when you take off the headlight the tension spring is attached to the top right corner. there are two circular holes one small one larger thats on the actual headlamp shell. thats where you attach the spring to, the other end goes on a bracket that is on top corner of the black headlamp clamp on the same side. the spring probably fell out when you took the headlight out its only bout an inch long
