dohc tranny swap into sohc

i have 89 sohc with auto tranny was wondering if its possible to swap a dohc tranny in the same way as a sohc meaning will it line up.
i know i need other parts clutch assembly and driveshaft but will the tranny line up to a sohc motor and will it make it harder to swap
