I'm trying to remove injector #4 without stripping the bolts but they're in there pretty tight.. I sprayed some PB Blaster and I'm gonna let them soak until tomorrow, but just in case that still doesn't do the job, anyone have any tips on a better way of getting them off?
Thanks

Impact screwdriver. Once you get the screws out, go buy some M5 machine screws (IIRC) to put back in, you'll never have to worry about it again.

i was sweating my balls off trying to take those fuckers out without stripping the phillips head.
edit: btw i found grips to work real well if you happen to strip it by accident.

Take one to a good hardware store and match it up per the threads, or take the whole rail in.

Try NAPA for the new hardware. They usally have large shelf type displays that have all diffrent kind of thread pitch ans size bolts. They have always had what I was looking for and then some. You should replace them with ones that have hex key heads.

I just went through the same thing. I used needle nose vise grips, then replaced the screws with normal bolts. Much better now! As big a PITA as those little screws where, nothing like getting the injectors themselvs out! Anyone have any tips on how go get injectors out of the rail without damaging the injector tops?

use two wide flat screwdrivers and pry them out. if you are really anal you can wrap the tip with some tissue paper or rubber bands.

Indolent: So, replacing the injector solved your problem? I read your past threads and I'm having a very similar problem with my #4 injector as you had with yours.. I've already done the compression test, checked the plugs for sparks, checked resistance, isolated the problem to injector#4, and just seafoamed my gas tank, crank case, and intake mani to see if it may be a clogged injector... But now i'm looking to just go ahead and replace it..
