Well we are trying to take off the 5lug hubs from my friends 98 240 to put on to a base model that he just bought.
But for some reason we can't get the damn things off. We have removed the axel nut, the diff and pulled out the passenger side axel, but the axel on the driver side won't come out. We also undid the 17mm bolts on the back of the Hub thinking that it would come right off, but then again no.

I don't know if we are missing something or what, but they don't come off. I didn't have this much trouble removing the HUBs from an S13.

Is there something I'm missing that differs between the S13 and S14 removal of the HUBs?

Please help

it sould be pretty simple...but i had the same problem with the hub unthreading with the axles...just load it up with pb blaster...give it a few stong (but strategic) hits with a mallet...and use a puller with nothing smaller than a 1/2 inch drive rachet...if your not using a puller at all then thats most likely your problem...fronts usually dont need pullers, but the rears need a little something to break all the dirt, rust, etc. from the axle threads...best of luck...DONT FUCK UP THE AXLE THREADS!! i got lucky and the axle nut ended up threading on cross threads...

Yeah, I think the threads are a bit messed up, but don't really care about them, just need the HUBs off.
We are putting the 5lug hubs on a base model 240, and were going to use the axels off of those.

I believe we are going to track down a gear puller to help assist the rear HUBs.

The fronts should slide right off once the axel nut is off correct, I know they did on the S13.
