NO more waiting for the S13 Pillowball tension rods. They are in stock, sitting in Tein's warehouse. There are 10 sets, so hurry, while they last~~
S14s are not even on order, if anyone is interested, it will need to be ordered.

alright just want to ask who's screwing who here?... you've got to be fricken kidding me, $140 shipping to Hawaii for coilovers, $80 pillowball mounts and tension rods??? WTF... couple friends and i just ordered springs directly from Tokico (the clearance sale) and it cost us $38.60 per set FedEx 2nd day air... it cost us less then $120 shipping for 3 sets of springs... at most, coilovers might weigh approx somewhere around the same of 2 sets of springs... there's no way that pillowball mounts or tension rods weigh more than a set of springs, and they definitely are not larger... i was gonna order until i saw those outrageous shipping quotes... i think that maybe either someone at FedEx is screwing you over bigtime on those quotes, or somethings real fishy here...
808rps13, you have obviously never seen, touched or held a set of coilovers. If you had, you'd know that they weigh *SIGNIFICANTLY* more than a set of springs, close to, if not more than, 20lb PER shock/spring combo. If you've never seen them, these boxes are huge (Teins are split into 2 boxes; one guitar-sized and another about 4 shoeboxes big) -- which explains the shipping. 1 set of springs can be no more than 20lbs, if that.
Put it this way: It took my friend (pretty big guy) 2 trips to the lobby to bring his Teins up to his apartment.
Have you ever SHIPPED via FedEx? (not received) It is not cheap. It's one thing when you're shipping from a big manufacturer like tokico and a completely different deal when you're either shipping for private purposes, or a small shop.
No need to jump on anyone here or accuse anyone of any fishy sales practices, especially since you don't seem to realize how big these packages are, or how much they weigh.

amount of hawaii people to screw over : you and your friend
amount of everyone else to screw over: everyone else
it makes a lotta sense to wanna just screw you, my friend..
The only thing fishy is your feet. ya heard?!

808rps13, there is nothing fishy about that price. Ian talked to me right after he got the quote and he was just as shocked as you were. I believe a set of coilovers from Tein weigh 73lbs, when you're shipping to Hawaii, you're practically shipping overseas, that equates to huge shipping charges...

808rps13 -
Just some information:
S13 HAs (without pillowball mounts) - approx 64 lbs
S14 HAs (without pillowball mounts) - approx 73 lbs
At first, shipping to HI, I was going to have Tein ship the parts directly to me, so I could use USPS to send it. But when I researched it a little further: 1, USPS will not shipping anything that's over 70 lbs. 2, USPS has limitations on the size of a box that's being shipped. So, USPS was out of the questions, unless the customer wants me to ship 4 different packages, totalling out to be somewhere the same as Fedex.
Fedex, for the shipping charge that's being charged, will have the items to the customer's door in two business days. That's a 70 lbs package, measuing BIG, shipped IN TWO business days. I don't think anyone is getting screwed!
Go to FedEx.com, get a quote, I am not sure the dementions, but I would say, 2 foot, by 2 feet, by 3 feet.

Just curious but has anyone posted anything on freshalloy about this so we can get Ian some more business?
BTW: Already posted my order with Ian for the T/C rods and he was super quick with all the billing info....

Ian... sorry if i made it sound as i was suspicious of you or your business, i apologize... it was more that i was questioning FedEx or Tein themselves, not you...
Adey...
... i have seen, touched, held a set of coilovers before... i had set of Potenza ERS coilovers (w/ pillowball mounts) on my car before... i would guestimate that they weighed somewhere around 80 lbs. for all 4 corners... i double checked my shipping receipt and the cost to ship the coilovers is pretty close to what i paid to get them shipped from Australia, cost me $125 or so at that time... so i guess that price ($140) isn't that off, my bad...
... i'm looking at the box of springs sitting right next to me and the shipping label says it weighs 25 lbs., i put it on my scale for good measure, 24 lbs, close enough... so about the same as 3 sets of springs...
... yes i have shipped FedEx before, and it costs exactly the same amount to ship or receive, all depends on the dimensions and weight... according to the original post, the products would be drop-shipped, sent out direclty from Tein in Cali... funny thing is that FedEx has 3rd day shipping or FedEx Ground to Hawaii (as funny as that sounds), it takes anywhere from 3-5 days to have items sent out or received, we use it all the time for work, but everytime i ask a company if i could have it shipped that way, they say they don't offer it...
... if anything though i am still shocked at the price of $80 to ship pillowball mounts or tension rods.. and yes i have held pillowball mounts (camber plates) and t/c (castor) rods before... pillowball mounts do not weigh any more than 15 lbs. and camber plates aren't any more than that either...
Ian... can you have those sent out USPS?

808 - If your unhappy with Ian's choice of shipping arrangments then best thing I could suggest is contact a local shop or retailer for tein and find out how much they can get you the product for in the first place and then what they would charge you for shipping. Then compair and take the better of the two.

Sil80, Zilvia is the only place that I have posted this, it's not on FA and it's not on NICO, so, Zilvia people, feel special! Haha, but seriously, FA doesn't really like this kind of stuff being posted on their boards...I guess it could go in classifieds...
Ideally I would have liked to of linked a topic to here, but they usually don't allow that as it is advertising a business (even though I am not associated w/ Lost Projects).

Just to back up 808rps13, if you ship fed ex to honolulu, its a different zone then the rest of hawaii and is the same price as shipping to the next zone from cali. They do have a daily flight from san fran and la. I have shipped large packages and the price is alot cheeper then posted as long as its going to honolulu, but that is the right price to anywhere else in hawaii.
Good luck with the group buy.

So what's the status on the people who ordered from lost projects? Did any of them receive their merchandise yet? I really want to know because I'm interested in ordering from lost project as well. But I would like to hear some good news first.

DSC apparently talked to someone that ordered the T/C rods, and they received them. I'm not sure who it was he talked to though.
when's the end-date on this again? was it May 10 or May 20? or am I completely off?

I orded my stuff a on the 1st and have yet to get my product. I emailed Ian today for a tracking number and have not received a reply. Considering he is in a move or something im going to give him some time plus I dought we are his only clients.
I decided to order the T/C rods first and based on how that goes will determine if I order my HE's. I hope everything goes good cause if it does I will have received Tein T/C's, Tein HEs, and whiteline sway bars by the end of the month.... Boy will my S13 feel defferent. OOOhh ya I should be getting my nismo(white) shift knob next week to... the one that is featured at the end of option 34 video... Kinda expensive since I had to get it from japan...
Ian you should see if you can get a contact in japan so you can get nismo, do-luck and other cool stuff like that.

As of 1:45 PM PST i have not recieved anything yet. Not a peep from Ian. I emailed him about 4 times and left about 3 voice messages, but since he's moving, i am being patient. I requested a shipping address change because i'm out of town for about 3 weeks leaving thursday morning. THat's why i really wanted to have everything today...but, seems not likely. Hopefully Ian will clear this up, and give an explanation why the date of the 10th was not kept. I would be much happier if he overnighted it to me from Texas (where it is shipped from), but i dont know if that will happen. That would certainly recify my situation as well as make me a very happy customer, considering everything that's gone on so far.
But the day is not over yet, so i'm still somewhat hopeful. I'll let everyone know what happenned when i get home around five or so.
I did have $170 (what i owed ian--gave my CC numbers to last wednesday-the 1st i think) charged to my credit card (posted) on the 8th of May. So maybe he is somewhat operational??? I hope he can clear this up and let me know the status of my order and a tracking number.
I would like to keep most of it off board only for ian's reputation and the move has messed up a lot of stuff, so i cant wait for Ian to get back on here, reply my emails and give me a tracking number.

I'm hoping that I'm wrong on this, but it seems like lostprojects is very fast at getting the money from the buyer, but very slow at supporting them after. (like giving out the UPS tracking number)
... still crossing my fingers for the ones who ordered already.

Hey man, you have to be somewhat patient. Mail isn't always 100% on time. In fact, its probably closer to 60% on time. When they say Friday, I usually don't expect it for a few extra days after that.

For certain package sizes, tracking numbers aren't available. I know that when I sold my gauges to someone on these boards, they wanted a tracking number, but when I sent the package, they couldn't give me one...
