SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator *Group Buy* (http://raretrick.com/index.asp?cat=1621&Page=1&Display=Yes&Back=Listings&ProductsID=7442)
SARD adjustable fuel pressure regulators for EFI engines utilizes extra light weight diaphragm assembly that provides excellent pulsation dampening; to dampen the pressure spikes caused by high flow fuel pumps and cycling injectors (especially non-factory high flow fuel injectors).
SARD offers two universal regulators, the Type-R & the normal models. Both models comes in either blue-anodized -6 AN aluminum inlet ports with a 1/8 NPT gage port, or blue-anodized aluminum 8 mm inlet with a 1/8 NPT gage port.
SARD fuel pressure regulators are designed to provide the correct fuel pressure for any high performance fuel injected vehicle. The normal model is designed to be used on fuel injected, non-turbo-charged engines, and it is machined from billet aluminum.
The other universal regulator, Type-RJ, is more expensive, and is designed for fuel injected and turbo-charged engines. Due to its boost compensating design, it can provide more fuel under high turbo boost conditions.
As per the normal model, parts are machined from billet aluminum. Pressure adjustment is made easy on both models by turning the built-in 360 degree nut. Both models are made to bolt in the factory location in most vehicles, so installation is a snap! Range is from 200 to 800KPa (2 to 8 bar).
69010 Sard fuel pressure regualtor 8 nipple inlet - $100
69011 Sard Fuel pressure regualtor AN #6 inlet - $110
69030 Sard Fuel pressure regualtor Type RJ 8 Nipple inlet - $200
69030 Sard Fuel pressure regualtor Type RJ AN#6 inlet - $200 (http://raretrick.com/index.asp?cat=1621&Page=1&Display=Yes&Back=Listings&ProductsID=7442)
RB/ SR20/ KA24 all use 69014 Adapter to install ($25) (http://www.raretrick.com/index.asp?cat=2377&Page=1&Display=Yes&Back=Listings&ProductsID=7443)
Shipping in the US48 is about $12 (Canada and HI about $20)
Please place orders over the website for proper processing.
Orders will be processed individually.

so what benefit, if any, is there from going from a Tomei/Nismo FPR (approx $120) vs. the $237 SARD RJ?
MadScientist
09-25-2005, 03:25 PM
Nismo/ Tomei/ HKS is an upgrade from stock and only pushes 200-600KPa/ 2-6 bar.
The Type RJ is for High Boost applications.
Seen several SRs running the Normal SARD FPR... other than the larger diaphram on the RJ, the performance is the same (200-800KPa/ 2-8 bar).

sweet, that's exactly the info I was lookin for! :)
Thanks!

Actually here is more info:
PSI multiplied by 6.8948 = KPa (Kilopascals)
AEM:
1.4 kg/cm2 (bar) + no info
138 KPa + no info
OBX:
1.7 - 4.0 kg/cm2 (bar)
172 - 400 KPA
HKS:
2.0 - 5.0 kg/cm2 (bar)
200 - 500 KPa
Nismo/ Tomei:
2.0 - 6.0 kg/cm2 (bar)
200 - 600KPa
SARD:
2.0 - 8.0 kg/cm2 (bar)
200 - 800KPa
So basically the SARD has the Highest Fuel Pressure... and for the same price as the Nismo/ Tomei... I see this as a good deal. You also get to pick colors and its easy to relocate.
If someone else is selling it for less... show me, i'll honor it.

Thank you.

S14DB -
Aeromotive:
2.0 - 5.0 kg/cm2 (bar)
200 - 500KPa
So Aeromotive is the same as the HKS!
SARD still wins!!
Just so you guys know the difference...
SARD FRP (Normal) - Regulator size is 50mm X 96mm and is ideal for most vehicles, up to ~450ps.
SARD FRP (Type RJ) - Large Sized regulator 66mm X 92mm. For high power applications over 500ps
Slidin240Wayz - If you want a Full SARD Fuel Set-up I will glady piece that together for you.
Sky240PWR - I got the e-mail... just been insainly busy trying to catch up on a full months worth of work. Order to Japan is going out Very Very soon.

the adapter bolts on where your old FPR was on the fuel rail to convert that to a -6 an outlet which you can then hook onto the regulator
Drew,
I have waited two weeks since I sent the PM that you read but have yet to respond. I have replyed to the group buy post and left a message on your phone but I have yet to get any answers. Please contact FEDEX and have them cut the check to me.

Are You Sure The Gauge Fitting Is 1/8npt.... I'm Sure Its 1/8 Bspt.

Had a few Misunderstandings... on my part as well...
69010 Sard fuel pressure regualtor, 8 nipple inlet - Stock Fuel Line
69011 Sard Fuel pressure regualtor, AN #6 inlet - Stainless Fuel Line
69030 Sard Fuel pressure regualtor Type RJ, 8 Nipple inlet - Stock Fuel Line
69030 Sard Fuel pressure regualtor Type RJ, AN#6 inlet - Stainless Fuel Line
There are 3 Holes in each FRP:
2 - 1/8NPT thread (Front & Bottom)
1 - 8PT thread for Gauge (Side) which is blocked off with an 8PT blocker.
SARD design will only allow 50% threading, this is a safty feature. Also you need to use a teflon tape on the threads for better seal.
Muzzy - Standard pushes the same amount of the RJ... only the RJ is bigger to hold more fuel in the cell. SARD is the Strongest FPR so you shouldn't have any problems with the Standard model... just depends on your set-up.

For People Who Buy This Regulator....
If You Have A 1/8 Npt Gauge Sender Or Gauge Port To Get It To Work You Need A 1/8 Bspt Male Adapter To 1/8 Npt Female. I Bought A Edelman Adapter From My Local Parts Store, Its Part Number 265220 And Cost Me $3.41 (fleet Rate, But List Price Is $4.95). This Adapter Will Also Work For Oil Pressure Gauges.

Guys I'm going to purchase one of these for myself and do a full write up on Install... there is different ways to install depending on your set-up, so I will try to cover that as well. There is a ton of information on this thread alone.
This should be very helpfull for those who have never installed a FPR.

what i mean is that 450 can be achieved by upping the pressure on the stock 370s??

I Was At A Local Autozone Yesterday And I Found They Carry A Metric To Standard Gauge Adapter Set, Its In Their Sunpro Line. I Found Out The Edelman Number Is Discontinued... So This Should Help With People Trying To Get That Number With No Luck.
MadScientist
10-17-2005, 10:20 AM
what i mean is that 450 can be achieved by upping the pressure on the stock 370s??
450hp just by upping the Fuel Pressure on stock injectors?? No... What I am saying here is the Fuel Pressure Regulator can flow enough fuel to properly support a vehicle with 450hp. Not that its some magic stick and wha-la' you have 450hp.
I understand that alot of people like to do their own work on their cars... but this is a vital part that can Damage your Engine if not installed correctly or tuned correctly. If you have never installed a FPR... have it done by a Professional. If you want to learn... ask and watch.
To Lean (more air than fuel)and your engine pings and pops... all sort of little damage to everything, killing your engine... possable effects of to Rich can happen also.
To Rich (more fuel than air) and you blow a ring... piston eats the wall, and rod goes flying through the block.
For those of you who want additional Fuel Parts with the SARD FPR:
Fuel Pressure Setting Meter Kit - $90
S13 Fuel Rail - $220
SR & RB25/ 550cc/660cc Side Feed Injector Collars - $35 each
SR & RB25/ 850cc Side Feed Injector Collars - 26 each

OK this is what you need know to Install the SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator...
Top Hole - Vacuum Line
Front Hole - Fuel Feed Inlet (from Filter or Pump)
Bottom Hole - Fuel Feed Outlet (to Fuel Rail)
Side Hole - Gauge only
1 - SARD Fuel Pressure Regulator - pick a color
*Stainless Steel Braided Lines you need (69011 or 69031) which come with TWO 6-AN Fittings
*Stock Lines you need (69010, 69030, or 69032) which come with TWO 8mm Nipple Fittings
*Front Hole - Fuel Feed Line In from Filter or Pump... if this line is Stanless you need a 6-AN Fitting there... if its Stock, you need an 8 Nipple there.
*Bottom Hole and Fuel Rail/ Adapter - if this line is Stanless you need a 6-AN Fitting on both ends... if its Stock, you need an 8 Nipple on both ends.
1 - SARD Fuel Regulator Adapter (69014)
*Fits onto the Stock Fuel Rail does not include fitting for Fuel Line... you pick depending on your set-up
1 - SARD Fuel Regulator Adapter Fitting
This is where it gets confusing for most... Basically you need a Total of 3 Fittings (2 on FPR/ 1 on Adapter or Fuel Rail).
So if you have Stock Line In and Stainless Out... you need (1) 8 Nipple and (2) 6-AN fittings!
All Stock Lines (3) 8 Nipple!
All Stainless Lines (3) 6-AN Fittings.
Everyone confused now?!?
Let me know...

Ok so I tried to fit in my Jegs gauge into the hole, and it won't frickin fit. It is so close, so I know that ProjectRB is right. I thought it was broken or a bad tap or something.. hopefully I didn't strip anything, tomorrow I will try to buy the adapter.
Does anyone know where I can buy one online? perhaps ProjectRB?

I know this doesn't relate much to Fuel, but I have an Ol'Skool NISMO Oil Pressure Gauge that came with the Nismo hose but the block end was missing the fitting. So purchassed the Nismo Oil Block Adapter because I would need it later when installing. The threads are 1/8 PT on both the gauge and the Oil Block Adapter. The part I was missing was a crazy thread over barb thingy. Called GoodRidge and they hooked up new hose and 1/8 PT fittings.... I tried to install but they were super tight... they said a PT (Pipe Thread) is tapered so it will get tighter as it goes in... In fear of causing more damage than good I went to sears and got a 1/8 PT Tap set. The Threads and sizes were the exact same the only problem was the hole was slightly too small... now its a perfect fit.
SARD DOES NOT RECOMEND YOU TAPPING OUT THE FPR SO PLEASE DO NOT DO SO... yes the fittings are tight, and only thread in half way.
The SARD Catalog has the Fuel Regulator Setting Meter parts listed as the following:
*Hose (1mm)
*8-PT 1/8 Hose Nipple
*8 Nipple 1/8 3-way
*PT 1/8 Blocker
All Pending Orders will be shipped out today... Fuel Rail Adapters are now back in stock.

Quick question.
Do you think 525cc would be able to flow well on the stock fuel rail if I up the boost.
Also, what should the FPR be set at? I think stock is at 36 or 40 right.

I have been told the SR20 stock Fuel Rail can support up to 700+cc Injectors.
How tru this is I am not 100% but being that NO-One makes a Fuel Rail for the S14 SR due to location I feel it is somewhat Valid!
Wes has an English writen FSM for the JDM S14 in the technical section... all your stock info will be in there. I dont suggest making a guess at what to set fuel at... have a Pro tune the car to the modifications.
