Was sure if this was ot or not. Anywho, does anyone know if the S20 engine will bolt right in to a S30 chassis? I know it came stock in the 1969 Fairlady Z 432, but I don't know if the motor mounts for the S30 differed from the KPGC10's. Also if anyone knows what tranny was used in th Z 432's, or if the S30's us spec tranny will bolt up to the S20, that would help alot. Thanks.

Shouldn't be too hard to get in there.
Good luck finding one for a decent price.

Wouldn't a Z forum be better suited for this kind of question?

Zilvia has a Z at the begining for a reason. The S-chassis crowd is just bigger here. :duh:

Ditto on that question. Hell S20's are rarer than hens teeth. I mean even some of the Vintage Skylines that have been imported over here that were supposed to have them no longer have them. Usually they have been replaced with a L series engine. Though to answer your question the S20 should bolt right into a S30. though there could be a crossmember mount line up difference. I know in Skylines there were differences in the crossmembers between the different RB's.

your best source for info is http://hybridz.org and http://classiczcars.com

You should ask Makino-san about his late-60's/early-70's racing days in Japan and the garage full of race replacement S20's that were destroyed because they didn't know their value back then :D.

thanks for all the help. when I do decide if the S20-S30 combo is what I'm definantly after, getting the engine will be do-able. One reason alot of the KPGC10's don't have S20's is because when the engine dies, or starts to die people don't wanna do the leg-work to get parts or another S20.

Thats dope if you know were to get a S20. Me? I would just stick a RB in a S30 pretty much a L series descendant engine. Has a great amount of torque and horsepower stock, easy to get, can be dialed up to 300 whp stock with some bolt ons and a boost controller set at 11lbs. Lots of parts available for the engines as well.

So you're seriously trying to build a homebrew Z432? That's just the coolest thing I've ever heard anyone say on here.

S20's aren't THAT hard to come by, you just need to be able to pony up the cash, generally $20k for a good running redtop, and up to $60k for a nice green or blue-top motorsports S20.

Anyway, I have no answer to your question, unfortunately, and I don't think really anyone on this forum will, to be honest. Your best bet is to get in touch with people on a Z-specific forum, but even then S20 knowledge will be slim. If you have japanese language skills, your liklihood of getting answers will be much higher, as you can probably just shoot an email to Garage Ishizaka or Rocky Auto and have an answer back in a few hours. Those guys know their stuff.

I've been talking with Japanese shops, but was only asking about S20's. Never about thier fitment in different chassis. My main dilema is the car. It's going to be a sizeable investment any way I go. I really like KPGC10's. With some dark watanebe's (sp), and bolt on flares, they just look ridiculous, but the Z 432 just has a bigger cool factor for me. I know alot of people can't imagine that cause skyline are the heazy and what-not, but those S20'd Z's are just plain sick. Anywho, I have alot of deciding to do and at least a year before I'll commit to anything, cause I want to be sure. I'm just trying to start getting my ducks in a row.
