are they made by Full Race? As in the company who makes the sick manifolds? or literally "a Full Race Shop"?

my main concern is quality. they are lightweight, obviously, but are they strong enough? wouldn't want a driveshaft cracking, twisting, or bending from the force of it being spun. lmk plz.

Just as well, is local pickup to save on some shipping available?
luisgonz

Ok They have a Lifetime Warranty on them against Defects. They are not made by full race who make the sick manifolds but by a rear end shop that has alot of time dealing with this kind of stuff.I really cant give out a Name because Iam the one getting them from them. When ordering please let me know if your car is a s13 or s14 with or without ABS.

what's the point of this? he's cheaper by like $100...
it'd be one thing if it were the same price, but it seems obvious to me that th e $100 difference about covers the difference in brand and potential quality.... Kinda like saying, " why drive a 240? a Murcielago is so much better!"
Well of course it is! :p

It would really help me decide if you had close up pictures (of actual item) of the joints and other parts of the drive shaft showing its quality. Please have ur close up pictures at least 800x600. If they look good, then I'm sold since the price is good compared to other places.

$70 goes a long way towards being reputable.
I'm not denying that it's possible that it's a good product. Hell, I even said I'm considering it myself. Relax. I'd just like to know who's product I'm actually buying.

Nah... more than $70, you're forgetting S&H, that's $16 minimum :p
Not pissed or anything, just saying that you're comparing items that are not in direct competition, one is clearly marketting toward the more hardcore enthusiast, while the no-namer is for the budget racer, simple as that.
They're locally made, custom shafts according to the seller (look @2nd post)... so short of seeing in person, or someone doing a real in-depth review, it's common sense to me to expect ebay-ish quality until someone reviews it and deems it otherwise.

Look guys i have sold and used my own product so Its ok to be shy about buying a a None brand drive shaft but Im going to post my ebay feedback and you well see what people think of them http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=hybridracerjr&item=-1&frm=1883
So go ahead and loook at it and did i say it does come with warranty incase of defect item.

mine finallly arrived. Here are some pictures. The driveshaft is definitely 11 lbs... extremely light compared to the stock driveshaft.
My only complaint is that the u joints seem stiff, but i think it is because they are brand new. I'll let you all know how it performs once I install it in my car.

K got mine in. I've got to agree. It's 11lbs of niceness. The joints are stiff but I agree they still move and work. I should have it installed in a day or two. I will have a review of it once it's in. The joints are nice and thick. Also include grease fittings. High res pics are available but if you need better ones than these included below just PM me.

It was also packed extremely well. Even had a collar on the part that goes into the tranny to prevent damage and covered in bubble wrap.

Why do they spray paint the shaft?
NinjaGaiden
10-17-2005, 02:10 PM
prob because n00bs like us wouldn't think its aluminum unless it was bright silver.
aluminum will oxidize to a darker color....
TheWolf
10-17-2005, 02:25 PM
race car driveshafts have to be painted a "bright reflective" color. Such as white or silver. Maybe it's habbit for them. I might chuck mine up in my lathe and polish it... then again it's under the car.

lol aluminum wont rust but steel u joint parts will. theres no such thing as a 100% aluminum driveshaft it would be stupid. I ordered one from him and put it in. I love it! car drives MUCH nicer now.
review:
negatives: took about 1 week to ship and involved me calling to nag alot (blew my stock d.s. and called saying ill buy if you can ship in the next 1-2 days via 3 day, received it ground shipped a week later.) thats my only real complaint. the paint has what looks like alot of glove prints on it, probabbly handled when wet. it also has a very scored appearance on the surface. I know your supposed to give an extra inch or so with going with a 1 piece driveshaft but it sticks out about 1.5 inches when the transmission dust boot collar end piece is still attached, which was recommended I hammer off before install (making the total about 2.5 inches sticking out of the transmission exposed slip yolk) seems somewhat a bit much to me personally but im not a 1 piece expert so I dont know. also, since the install my car seems to have a light throttle resonance in it thats extremely loud... imagine people who lick their fingers and move them around the rim of a wine glass. its louder than my exhaust (3 inch straight pipe n/a apexi n1 style w/ test pipe) which is pretty damn loud but thats only on just light highway throttle... is that normal? does anyone else get this?
positives: construction appears to be very well made, very thick beautiful welds and seems really beefy with the 4 inch piping. it doesnt look pretty but it looks like it will take a hell of a beating. who needs a pretty driveshaft that will do nothing but get sand blasted and exposed to rocks all day. I checked with a magnet and the driveshaft is definitely aluminum to confirm. packaging was very well done and the seller was very nice

Got mine in as well. It arrived in a resonable amount of time. Sold my S14 2pc shaft for $65. The shaft works well. Doesn't rub on the exhaust. Fit right in good length. No more shudder from low RPM high gear cruising. Can do 1k in 5th if needed and not have that anoying shudder from acceleration. Definite improvement in 1st and second gear. NA KA powered. The car in general is much smoother and feels slightly faster but that might be the but dyno effect. Free'er reving in the low gears and seems to allow for easier rev matching. It was everything I hoped it to be. Brand name spicer joints with easy to get at zerk fittings for grease. Can't complain. I'd give him a thumbs up for my experience.
