This is like way old news.
People have been making comments about the rear of the S15 looking like the rear of the Pontiac GTP for years.
In the old days it was quite common for the Japanese car companies to copy body designs of American and European cars. As the Japanese auto industry saw world wide succes their designs became a lot more original.
Though they still tend to knock each other off still. See the new Mitsubushi Eclipse, looking like it stole its styling cues from the 350Z, which is a huge hit for Nissan in Japan, as well as selling very well here in the states.

Three days ago, I went to the nissan dealership with my nephew to take a look at some pre-owned 350z's. As we were walking towards the dealership, there was a pontiac gtp parked on the sidewalk. Since my 11 year old nephew plays a lot of GT3, I was really amazed when he told me how the pontiac's rear looked like a silvia spec r in the game. A few weeks back, my bro and I were also talking about how some american cars tend to look like some japanese cars. Anyways, I also thought that the grand prix rear look like the s15. Take a look at the new honda civics, they look like Saturns now. Thanks for the feedback!
