sr20det will not rev (i have searched)

i have searched and can find any answers, i just installed me redtop sr and it starts and idels for a few seconds and dies, i try to rev up the motor but it will not rev at alli have a 1990 240 with a sr redtop ever thing is stock except 3" exhaust and greddy rocker arm stoppers. someone please help

Check for large vacuum leaks...use an air compressor, and pressure test the intake system and intercooler piping.

Also check if the maf is bad.

odds are you have a HUGE boost leak....even at idle, when i did my first swap a year ago, i left somethign disconnect under the fender i couldnt see, and the car ran for lik 10 sec then died....each time until i fixed the problem...check all your intercooler connections and your BOV, if the BOV is stuck open, itll be the same problem.

cool thanks for your help guy's, i went trough all of the pipeing and every thing was tight, i also checked the spark plugs for fuel and they are getting fuel, so i started it and it would rev fine and then something made a poping sound and a puff of smoke came up from the intake side of the motor and now it wont start at all it just cranks it sounds like it's not getting fire. well got to work now no time to check it out

yes as far as i know the timing is right, and every thing is grounded,i am thinking it might be a problem with my coil pack harness since it wont start now.i am going to check it out tomarrow
