Does anyone know if S13 and S14 front coilovers are interchangable? I need a new pair of fronts for my S13 and everything I find is S14. A good friend of mine said they were interchangable, but I thought I'd ask here. If so, are there any ill effects from putting S14 coilovers on an S13?
Thanks in advance,
Bryan

the mounting holes for the bottom of the coilover are slightly bigger for the s14, so if you put it on an s13 there will be a little room for it to move around...nothing that good ol torquing the mounting nuts can't take care of.

Ahhh, I remember that now, whoops. So will torquing the 2 nuts/bolts down keep it from moving around, or would one need to get a sleeve with the O.D. of the hole and the I.D. of the bolt? I assume that would be better. Other than the holes, there are no differences then...correct?

but if you did a 5 lug conversion you should have a s14 spindle...

???? Who said anything about a 5 lug conversion...? I'm still 4 lug, I just need front coilovers because the ones I have now won't go low enough for me. And it seems like everything I find is for an S14, so I just wondered if they'd work ok. Forgot about the holes being bigger.

so your going S14 coilovers so you can be lower?? sounds like you need to buy a coilover that goes low enough all aroound rather then cheaping out, since nearly all manufacturers don't sell coilovers in pairs. You need to better explain what you are trying to accomplish, because all you get is vague responses because you gave a vague situation.

I have a pair of Apex N1's up front, and a pair of Tein HA's in the rear. The HA's go low enough, but I can't get the front down where I want it with the N1's, so I wanna find another used pair of coilovers for the front that will go lower than my N1's. Everything I seem to find is for an S14 though, so I was trying to see if they would work. I may just end up selling my whole setup and getting a whole new set of coils (kts). Don't really have the money though, so it would depend on what I could get for my setup. Basically just tryin to see what my options were (S13 only or S13/S14).
Thanks guys,
Bryan

why not get a shorter spring for the fronts. Like Zeal or Swift replacements, thats and easy fix. With HEs, I was currently .5 inch of fender above the rim using just the lower bracket for height adjustment in the fronts. There are many different was you can work with to drop the car, ultimately how low are you trying to go, BTW s14s seem to look lower then s13s when slammed.

or..... just raise the rear so that the car sits nice with the apex's up front...

But that's not low enough! lol I have the rear sitting down on the tire, actually tucking a little tire, and I want the front to sit right at the top edge of the tire. As it sits now there is about a 2 finger gap up front. BTW 18x8.5/225/40 and 18x9.5/245/40. I may have solved the problem and found another set of coils, I should know soon.
