I have a s14 SR (Zenki model) in my 95 240sx. The car seems to lag up until like 4500 rpm. I just dont know if that is normal or not. Even when i mash down on the pedal it just speeds up slowly intil it hits around 4500 rpm. So if im pressin the pedal down a little bit and push it down a little more, doesnt feel like there is much of a speed response. It just gets louder. Feels like boost doesnt kick in until 5400 either. I've heard the SR's lag a bit, but dont know if its normal in my case or if its a problem i gotta fix. Thanks

Boost leak? don't think that's normal

Boost leak will do that.
I'm having similar problems but in my case it's from a blown headgasket. Check the condition/level of your coolant/oil for loss or milky residue. Compression/leakdown test would be the next step.

if your CAS is bad that will do it. also chedck your timing that will do it also. boost leak yes but u can hear them and they usually dont last too long before your pipes fall a part.

how do you check to see if your CAS is bad? are there any certain voltages you are supposed to test for etc?

I presume you would be throwing a CEL if it was the CAS..
otherwise, just check the electrical connection and make sure it's clean and tight

It might also be your wastegate giving out. A faulty wastegate will usually rob your car of power and give your car a very wierd power band.

my car is doing the same thing. I have a redtop and a HKS actuator. when im driving the boost doesn't hit hard until 4500 all the way to redline. before 4500 to 5000 rpms the car is at like .15 to .2 bar. when it hits full boost though it hits about 11 to 12 psi.

wow sounds like your sr is worse than my ca. i have manifold, and 3 inch turbo back with fmic and hks wastegate but i hit full boost 3800-4000.
i was told u can test your cas by taking it off and turning the chaft manually. it puts out some voltage as it turns supposidly. but let me get back to you on that for shure. anyhow when my cas was badd the ecu didn tpick it up pas a fault so how would he be pulling CEL? ca sr rb ka, comes down to the same shit when a problem hits and ecu gives you diag.

when something is wrong electrically with the CAS it will through a light.. a mechanical failure however may not be possible to detect by the ECU
