Ok..so here is my problem/question. I need to know if i need differnet mounting brackets for the Q45 brake calipers or if i can use my stock S13 brake brackets? and if teardrop rims clear the Q45 brake calipers or not? i am planning to go Q45 brake upgrade soon and need to find an answer. So if anyone can help with these questions it would be very much appreciated. Thanks again all!! Will be looking forward to replies.

The caliper and rotor are both larger and wider. What makes you think your existing caliper bracket will work?

180sx/Altima brake upgrades always work as a cheaper answer to "How do i brake faster and resist more brakefade?"
Cheaper also.

i figured yeah i need brackets just like he said it is bigger has bigger brackets. Just wanted to know for sure because i checked autozone and they have lifetime warranty q45 calipers but without brackets for just over 100. Just wanted to double check thanks people!

I prolly be selling my Q45 calipers heres is a pic of them on my S13 and NO they dont need any type of brackets the fit right on, as far as clearance, I know they clear stock 16" S14 SE 5 lug wheels and my current 18" G35c rims with no spacers at all front and rear.

Don't talk out of your ass. I've installed this before and it mounts to the stock brackets.

You're full of shit too. You're saying that the larger caliper bolts right up to a narrower bracket (pad carrier) that slips over a wider, larger rotor?
So I guess a 15" tire fits on to a 16" rim, correct?

the Q45 brakes bolt right on - all you have to do is remove the heat shield

You're talking to someone who knew that while you were still in diapers, assbag.
From driftaholic's link above you can clearly measure the caliper bolt spacing with a ruler. Roughly 3.5" on the S13 caliper, 3.75" on the Q45. Even reduced in size in a picture it's obvious they won't crossover.

I did the q45 brake upgrade. You do NOT need anything special. Just go to AutoZone and buy a loaded pair of calipers and a pair of rotors for a 1995 Infiniti Q45. You can use stock brake lines, and the stock mounts. However, I would suggest picking up a set of braided stainless steel brake lines. Just buy OEM replacement for your 240sx.
I went to tirerack.com and picked up Brembo rotors for the Q45, brake lines for an s14. Then I went to O'Reiley's and picked up a set of loaded calipers for a 1995 Q45. You have to pay a core charge.
But, I returned my s14 front calipers for the core charge. I even told the guy what I was doing, and he was fine with it. However, most people don't know the difference between the s14 and Q45 calipers, so they won't pay attention if you return your s14 calipers as q45 calipers and don't say anything. I'm not suggesting you do this, but I'm sure it would work.
This was for the fronts only. Front calipers + front rotors + brake lines for all corners.

I think theres alot confusion here becasue of lack of using the correct terminology.
R240NA is saying that you cannot use a stock S13 torque member with Q45 calipers/rotors and I agree with that while someone else says its not ture, I think the problem is here as that the term bracket is being used incoorectly.
I think the bracket thing your talking about is realy what is called the "torque member" this is the piece that bolts onto the hub/spindle assembly and then to the actual caliper.
I have not tried to use it but I could put money on it that the S13 stock torque member will not allow for a Q45 rotor/caliper.

exactly, and the part where this terminology is important, is that when people order or pull q45 calipers, they may not get this tq member and it afaik isnt the easiest to be sourced seperately.

there we go. thanks. sorry about the terminology part. yeah wondering about the torque member cause autozone doesnt include it. So i think im gonna check with another parts store or try junkyarding one. thanks for the update

Last time I checked you cannot purchase a torque member bracket fron anywhere period, it'll only be found on loaded calipers.

Why the hell bother with q45 when the z32 ones are same price maybe cheaper? I even had mine powdercoated and still spent less than 100 per caliper.

I think wheel clearance is the reason why some go with the Q45's over the z32's. I could be wrong but that's why i'm doing it.

Im thinking "I wanna be JDMCOOL, BUT think outside thebox... Q45!!" as another pointless mod on a stock engine.

well just to answer why i want to do the q45 upgrade. is for one yes the clearance. two they are 100 for both fronts lifetime warranty. and three its not gonna be a stock car. its more than likely by the end of the year gonna be a built ka24e-t. So there are my reason and not to be a dick but extra braking always helps on the mountain and in everyday use in my opinion. wheather you agree with my reasons or not its not gonna change my decision. sorry if this post comes off wrong. didnt mean it to
Another reason to do the Q45 atleast in the rear is that you dont have to change the e-brake assembly.Z32 in the front Q45 in the back.

Thank you. It's good to know that there's at least one other intelligent person on here from time to time.
Torque member = pad carrier ='bracket' as the original poster labled it. NOT the caliper, or to even be considered such unless it's a loaded, complete unit.
