alright, im on my way home today and the car is running fine, stop by a freinds, and come back out, get back on the road and now when i hit the gas it will build boost but doesnt go anywhere......is my clutch slipping?? what is going on?? btw its an s14 w/ a s13 sr

this should be in tech but...are your rpms going up but the car isnt moving faster? then yeah your clutch is probably shot, you can def smell burning clutch too

thats the thing though, i dont smell clutch burning....but all the other signs are there...

How about at 1/2 throttle? If it's slipping while at WOT and full boost, try backing off a bit....if it starts catching then you've got a burned clutch. The smell doesn't matter in some cases....

Wait, mine does the same thing sometimes. It isn't the clutch, because the engine doesn't rev any faster. It does build boost, it's just incredibly slow. But it doesn't happen all the time. I'm really interested if anyone knows what's going on.
It happens when my car is has been slowly in city traffic, or is parked somewhere for a bit, then started and driven.

Sounds like clutch to me. Driven slowly= massive use of the clutch. Parked... cold car?

yeah, drove all night tonite till bout 9, then parked it for about 3 hours and drove for another maybe, eh, 20 miles, and it didnt do it at all......so maybe its just starting to go bad....i dunno but whats a good clutch cuz im going to just pick one up and have it waiting so i can just slap it in when this one goes bye bye! i was thinking exedy or spec?

yep sounds like ur clutch took a shit...

go with spec, ive driven my friend sr with a spec clutch and that clutch takes TONS of abuse and still holds tight.
