Ok, so I posted this in tech and nobody cares, so I figured I'd try again...

Is it safe to remove helper springs from coilovers that have them? I have a pair of Tein HAs in the rear and a pair of the original Apex N1s up front. They all have helper springs. The HAs go low enough, but the N1s don't. I know the helper springs are there to make them more streetable and keep them from rattling, so...Is it safe to remove the helper springs from the N1s to get them to go a little lower? The rear sits perfect, but the front still needs to come down another inch or so...

Thanks in advance,
Bryan

So I've pretty much decided to go ahead and take the helper springs out this weekend. I'm tired of looking at it so high. The rear is perfect and the front looks like shit. Once the car is on the ground the helpers fully compress anyway, and basically just act as a spacer (Probably roughly an inch thick fully compressed). The only thing I'm worried about is going so low that I blow the strut. Someone please give me some thoughts on all of this...

Correct.

Once the car is on the ground, the helper spring is fully compressed and does nothing.

It is only there to prevent the coilover spring from rattling when the suspension is completely unloaded, like if you ever lift a tire.

You'll be fine.

I know that's what it's for, but do you think that extra 1-1.5" lower will be too much? (enough to blow the struts)

Bumo for last minute opinions before I do this this afternoon...
