For anyone that saw/posted in my original thread about me going to my first drift event, I thought i'd post a small update thread.

The car now has the Nismo 2 way back in it, and i got to hit 1 parkinglot event before going to my first competition. I didnt even qualify for the top 8 due to a lack of tires, but i doubt i would have made it anyways as a majority of the guys are or should be sponsored, and a few of them are in formula D. The winner of the competition ended up being none other then Falken Tires' driver Vaughn Gittin JR. So i'm not terribly disappointed with missing out on qualifying.

here's a picture of me hitting the bank on the oval portion of the track. Speeds exceeded 95 mph for some of the better guys, but for me, i was only at about 85 ish at my highest point.

yep :) third event

I'm pretty happy with the way my car performed at that track, and to be honest, if my new clutch had come earlier (my current spec is not holding up under excessive heat) and i had more tires, i would have started going faster and tried to carry the high line around the bank (you can see the darker areas where the big boys were drifting...i couldnt hang it due to lack of power, but mostly low entry speed)

tons of fun, im still not a fan of drifting on banked oval tracks, but if that's what America is doing...then fine :-\

EDIT

it's a nascar short track if anyone was wondering

the ideal entrance speed on those banks are about 85+

it is pretty scary with very little room for mistake...i know how hard those walls are too
