God I have been out of the "scene" so long I feel like a retard for asking this but here goes....
I have a 90 SOHC 5spd 240SX. If I got a DOHC car that was auto, can I use my 90 to swap it to 5spd, or is the transmission / harness DOHC specific?

you can do the swap tranny is not an issue.
Also you really should do a search before asking a question like this. I will not flame but a lot of people will.
I wrote a Auto to 5 speed swap faq over 3 years ago its in the faq section.

I have probably read your FAQ about 20 times so far, it was very helpful. It didn't specifically say whether or not the swap works SOHC 5spd to DOHC auto so I figured I'd ask. Is there anything different about doing the swap this way?

no, if your following my swap faq it will work out the same no matter what year trans you use in a s13, in a s14 you do have the OBDII issue which likes to the trans completely wired up sensors wise. In a S13 all you really need is the speed sensor wired and the reverse lights.

Same car, same parts shared. End of discussion.

Alright I'm about to buy a SOCH tranny for my DOCH and was wondering the same thing. Since the question is quite vague for me, I'll ask this to be more specific. Is there any difference between the bell housing on the SOCH and the DOCH? And the difference in input shafts (I know I have to get a pilot bushing for the manual) like the teeth (difference in number of teeth) for the clutch and where it would bolt up to the flywheel?
On another note, I know my s13 doesn't have ABS, what's the difference between an ABS and a non-ABS driveshaft? Does the ABS one have extra mounts or fittings on the ceter support or something?

You are the worst fucking reader ever.
SAME TRANSMISSION
What does that mean to you? Same. Not different. Identical. No changes made to affect fitment. How many times does this have to be covered?
Driveshaft is shorter for an ABS car, nothing else is different. Again, common question that's been asked and answered for ten fucking years.

alright man. No need to be all hyped up about it. I just want to make sure of it. Not like I opened up a new thread about it.
