hi everyone, my buddy is the owner of Main Street Autobody in Milpitas ...and Hilers Advanced Autobody is in Santa Clara.. they work mostly on low-rider and custom detailed paint jobs for show cars. anyways, recently we have been talking getting more into the import scene and he said hes looking to sponsor a club or group of drifters in order to expand his business into the import scene. having BBQs and meets at his shop, hookups on paintjobs, and free new products he recieves.

we/he is looking for a club that goes to a lot of meets, and local drift events, preferably in the south bay. also what would be MOST helpful are photos of the cars and demo videos of the drivers actually in action drifting.

anyways please contact me at [email protected] if you are in a club and are interested in getting sponsored by my friends autobody/paint detailing shop.
thanks

www.driftunit.com not really a crew/team more like a brand... but they got some cars/people worthy.

I'm interested...

And video of course…

I frequent at least 2 drift events per month including those in SoCal… I also attend large meets when they are thrown. The 240sx community knows me and I have an excellent reputation with everyone and can represent any company in a professional marketable manner.

Thanks for the consideration!

shock drifting actually needs paint though. we have four cars under construction right now, an FD, an FC, and two S13's, with another FC starting its build in a few months.

and we all go to two events per month and have bbq's about every day haha

Please contact the team leader Luke Lonberger. He is building a new car for next years formula d season, and is looking for a paint sponsor. The car is also being featured in sport compact car mag with a 5 page article, and will be on g4 tv next year. This would be a great way to advertise your company.

Please give him a call since he is banned from this forum.

I agree those that need help should be considered here... but who says that I don't need a paint/body sponsor? I was just picked up by Vertex and need the kit to be painted for DriftShowoff and I am considering a color change. Just becuase a car is in the condition it should be in (well taken care of/maintained) doesn't mean that it is not deserving of a sponsorship. It often denotes how the owner/driver represents himself, his car and how he will represent the sponsor.

It doesn't matter how many projects your team has... this is all marketing and advertising...

Please give him a call since he is banned from this forum.

I'm not too sure this was a smart thing to say as most sponsors like professional/respectable representation. For obvious reasons if a sponsor was offering up services/material like body/paint... they would not consider someone that has been banned from a forum and doesn't have a good rep with everyone.

I agree I don't need the sponsorship... BUT I would like to help out anyone that is trying to grow their business in a strategic manner.

Jay's car gets tons of attention everywhere from the events to the forums. If I was to sponsor a car id goto him.

Ok so if someone gets banned then they have a bad rep with people?

If i was the body shop i would consider Luke because he can actually drive very well unlike most of the people getting sponsored now who have drift cars that only drift online and attend car shows. He has competition expierience, and has attended every drift event in california in the last 2 years except for 3.

I like Luke, and I'm pretty sure all the people in Nor Cal have no beef with him. The only people that may not like him are the mods. They're not even in Nor Cal.

Also, alot of people are picking up the Welded diffs that he does. +1 for shock drifting.

I don't think he is banned, just PINKED.

Just curious why it would be stupid to sponsor me or anyone else?

I made a suggestion as the originator of the post asked for alternative groups... I'm cool with everyone... even Luke... I was just pointing out that some things are better left unsaid. Not saying anything about anyone or their abilities etc.

Just want to make that clear.

Why don't you put forth an effort and show the vendor what you can do for them. Then the vendor can make his/her own choice.

Arguing over who is the best choice is classic, though!!!

Let me put my opinion since some of you guys are just plain retarded. I dont know how nicely I can put it but goddamn, stop posting.

90% of the time sponsor are willing to work with Car enthusiast that their vehicle are 98% done ie like Jay Pizzaro. It does not matter who you are if really have a shitty car most of the sponsor will pass up cause it takes too much work to work on something very simple, painting a car.

Jay's car is already nicely done and to seriously say Jay will get sponsor easier than any of the Shock Drifting Guys. Maybe Luke, Xander and Joe are better drivers than Jay but...

1. Jay's car is 95% done. Looks nice and good reputation car.
2. Jay's attends to 90% of the Cali events, even up in Socal Drift Day.
3. Jay does not make comments like this...
yea, +10 for your mom giving good head.

back to being on topic:
I need my fenders and rear bumpers painted, btw YOU SUCK AT DRIFTING (.com)

4. If want to get sponsor you should treat it like a job. It is your job to be in the best manner you can be. Who wants to work with asshats? Sure you might not be an asshat outside the forum if we knew each other, Joe and I but 98% of the sponsor does not know the drivers personally. Be at your best manner.

5. Sponsors does not care if you have 2435645764523423443 E-FRIENDS. Vote for me. OMG! VOTE FOR ME! Not in this case, its not a popular contest in this situation.

Some of you people should really read this...
Guide to sponsorship by Nadine, yeah she's not that great but she has a goddamn good sponsor. What about you?

Sorry for the bump but here's my 2 pennies..

Good advice Al. If I've learned anything all the years of fixing up cars (10+) I'd have to say being humble and honest will get you a sponsorship. We started DriftUnit because we loved drifting, not to get major sponsors. The sponsors came to us cause we represent Drifting in all its glory, from Al, Jay and Calvin going for all the glory competing in big events to the rest of the guys who drift cause drifting is fun.

Do you know them in person? NOPE
Two of the members have or are currently competeing in Formula D
Shockdrifting is nowhere near "new kids on the block" If you've seen them drift in person or even talked to them in person, they're great people.

God Johny5 almost everything that you post is fucking retarded just like "I hope CA gets hit by earthquakes and hurricanes har har har!" Before you start talking about people, make sure you know them first.

Gotta know what sponsers want, exposure. And tons of it. You have to speak highly of their products (even if there's something about it you don't like.) I built a truck for a guy as a sponsership, and in return he owes me 2 seasons of racing. Trust me, I raced motocross and desert for 10 years, you have to learn to be respectful, keep your vehicles in good mechanical and more importantly asthetically condition, and last but not least, you have to put out the good word to everyone you possibly can. Sponsers also want someone who will COMPETE and has the potential to podium. People don't want to sponser you to daily drive your car to work, take it to a meet at night, and go to the drift day practice events.

Knowing sponsership lingo is also good. Two words, Binding contract.

!Zar!
09-30-2005, 04:03 AM
A sponsor also dosen't want someone bashing other companies products or other team cars, but to show respect and say why your sponsor is good without bashing all over the competition. Most people don't like an arrogant cocky bastard.

I'm not trying to fight with anyone on this board... don't have to. For the record... I was not trying to instigate anything either... I am cool with everyone on this board. I was trying to help the guys to present themselves in a mature professonal manner.

I do understand what sponsorships mean and are for and what is required. I am in sales/marketing for a 2 billion dollar company that grants sponsorships including a superbike team in Europe... and I review the requirements and fulfillment portion troughout the year.

real intelligent comebacks from the male shocker representees. first off, new kids on the block has nothing to do with age, it has to do with your loose and pathetically represented attitudes. i see the word "shocker" come up in so much shit now, give yourselves shockers, see how good it feels. hell i'm sure your entire team could go for a good round of self-male shocking anyways.

because of crap like this i'd be surprised if your "crew" could get respect pulling up to a local middle school or highschool, pathetic.

Ok this is Luke posting on andrews screen name. All this crap talking needs to stop right now. It has nothing to do with this thread, and is not good for the scene. All of you that hate on shock drifting because we like to have a good time, and have fun with the sport dont realize what this sport is all about.

Those of you who hate on our driving will need to come out to a real event and beat us. Stop internet drifting.

I vote to lock this shit. We know of the only 2 teams really applying for the sponsorship, and this thread is just going to turn into pointless bickery.

You texans, as long as I've been on this board, all you guys care about is oversized wheels, flushness, and bagging on people that don't have the whole offset deal down.

You guys aren't local, you guys don't know shock drifting, and I wouldn't be surprised if you know Jay in person, so until you establish some actual contact with both teams, shut it.
