most would agree that it's hard to beat Megan Racing's base coilover as far as price vs. performance.
Before they were around I got KYB AGX and GC coilover sleeves, which is great for me, BUT had I the option to do it again today, I'd go with the Megans. The price for my setup (when new) and the MRs now, is almost identical.

shock/spring combo - $1000 is too much to have fun with. you may want to invest in pillowball mounts (front, rear) if you go with shock/spring combo.
coilover setup - $1000 you can walk away with MR or k-sport full coilovers - do a quick search under budget coilover, you should get enough results. SPL is just a tad more expense than MR - nothing but good reviews from members here.
Most people would tell you coilover... but it's your money - spend wisely.

I'll put OptionZero's post thru my "niceness filter" LOL! :)
it goes something like this:
"It's generally considered bad form to discuss actual current prices on specific products from specific vendors, this goes for just about ANY forum. It almost always degrades into mud flinging and typically, undue negativity towards one vendor or another solely on the basis of prices on said specific product(s). It's unfair to the vendors, and more often than not, contributes to the spreading of mis-information. Chat about exact prices should be kept in PM conversations so no ones feelings/reputation/butt gets hurt" :)

Prices change.
State sales tax makes a difference
Shipping varies
People have hookups.
Some people like certain vendors personally more than others for various reasons
and finally:
DO YOUR OWN FUCKIN WORK.
Unless u wanna hand me money and LET me do all your shopping for you, in which case i'll be happy to let you know where to send your money.
i wish people would tell me where to get the best prices on everything I want.
Hey, I want an Elise, is $25K a good price?

Wow.. you'd think somebody with 110 posts would've figured out where the search button is. Megans can be had for cheaper than what you say, go look around. A few people i know have been getting them from UM.
