Ok, well, I've been talking about it and most of you guys who have met me knows that I've been planning to sell the car for a few weeks now. I was going to take off all the parts and sell it stock with the motor but after some other people's suggestions, I am going to list it as is. I put a "For Sale" sign up at Drift Day yesterday and it seemed some people are interested but no one has shown up with cash yet.

This car I have had for 3 years and spent much time and money in it. I hate to see it go, but I need something a little more practical and no longer have the time and attention it needs. I do not drive on a daily basis so the car is collecting dust. I roll it out to wash and wax it every week.

I know some people will say what? you never drift? The answer is yes. I didn't build this car to drift - I built it because I loved the S13 coupe and wanted to restore it to like new condition. I have autocrossed the car before and is very capable on track. I am hoping to sell the car to someone who can appreciate it and hopefully likes 240SXs as much as I do.

So here it goes:

I will take some pictures of how it is now but here are some other pictures.

Quite a few people on the board have seen it in person and can vouch for the car.

Here's the car when I took the "Best 240SX" award.

And full show trim with OEM aero kit... I sold the front bumper and sideskirts already.

Ok, since posting on craigslist and some car forums, I've had a number of people ask me the history of the car so instead of writing this 100x to everyone here goes:

The car I purchased 3 years ago from an old lady who used to drive it to church every weekend. It had less than 100,000 miles and was in excellent condition. After I purchased it, I swapped in an SR20DET and drove it completely stock for a while. It was fun surprising the occasional Honda and some BMW 330 but after a while I decided to modify it. The body was completely taken apart and repainted the same stock color. Every inch was sanded down and completely repainted. Care was taken to remove the OEM stickers and replace them after repainting. The whole paint process cost $2500 and took 2 months. I got an JDM OEM aero kit and installed it on the car. I participated in the JDM Theory car show and the car took the "BEST 240SX" trophy for the cleanest 240SX.

The engine blew on me while driving. It was completely rebuilt with fresh internals, the engine wiring harness completely replaced with a new JDM factory one and Power FC engine management to control it all.

The tuning was done by Shigenori Ara of Zero Sports Japan. He flew in to tune a few STIs and had some extra time and dyno tuned my motor at Subaru Specialists in Sacramento. It was dyno tuned and then while driving it blew once again... this was about 4 months ago.

Rather than spend the money to rebuild the old motor again, I decided to swap in a fresh motor - the current blacktop in the car. The swap took 2 months to complete. The engine management was removed and everything returned to stock for reliability. All sensors and maintenance items were replaced on the motor while it was out. So the current motor in the car is 1 month old and very low miles. Everything was professionally done throughout the history of the car.

All told there was over $20,000 invested in this car to use for show, autocross and HPDE use. Most of it was parted out and sold. I litterally have over 100 pictures of the progress of the car as it was built and various stages.

The price is set low for a quick sale and is VERY FIRM.

Ok guys, seriously, I won't mention any names but no stuff like "I will trade my 86 300ZX + cash" for the car.

And I had some guy say the Blue Book value is $2000 and he'll give me that. WTF?

Lowballers will be ignored.

CAR IS SOLD!

This guy called me today asked for some info about the car and then said he was going to buy it. He showed up at my door, inspected it and gave me 65 Benjamins on the spot. Did the paperwork and it was gone...

I'm going to miss that car. 3 years of many happy times and a lot of sad ones as well. It's wierd, its just gone. I took some pics before he drove it away. I'll post it later.

Thanks everyone for the complements, they are greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks, well, some other people will have the aero. ;)

Yeah, the sale was really quick .. kinda wierd almost. He didnt ask many questions, did a walk around and just paid me. Didn't even test drive it.

20 years old. 6.5K cash... He'd just sold another car, an Accord, and said this is his 2nd SR20DET 240SX. He had a black fastback previously that he sold.

Oh, the new car is here. It has some big shoes to fill. I'm sure its up to it! :)

You know, I couldn't read the guy's writing that well so I just ran this guy's address through Mapquest and google maps and it DOES NOT EXIST!

the zip code he gave for Sunnyvale - 95032 is not SUNNYVALE's zip code!
There is no street in Sunnyvale with the street name he gave! WTF?

I asked my coworker who has sold cars before says as long as I have my liability release and the bill of sale... even with his false address, I am no longer liable for the car.

But the guy can drive it around for months even years never registering the car! Everything will come back to me, parking tickets, registration fees etc. but I just show the DMV the bill of sale and the liability release and I should be ok. So I guess the car floats in limbo until he registers it.

Kinda messed up system and not really how I wanted to sell the car. But I guess I am clean.

He called me back from the message I left. Apologized for giving me the wrong address!? He said he had Cupertino and Sunnyvale mixed up... Kinda wierd considering he said he grew up in the South Bay, and he don't know his own address? He gave me another address which did exist. So I'm going to photocopy the documents and send in my form.

Still kinda fishy but I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday.

He asked me about when I did the last oil change and we chatted a bit about maintenance stuff. Car has seen nothing but Mobil 1 and Red Line, OEM filters and parts always etc. When he was asking me I was almost like, bring it over, I'll do it for you...

Let's hope he takes care of it. :) Here are the final pics:
