I think most people heard and seen it. But I always thought they were very limited to other people. Those pictures were taken over in Korea?

Yea, the tires are Kumho Ecstas and according to Rob and Matt from Enjuku racing they are only available in 255/45/17 to a very very limited amount of people. But if you want, you can buy them for the suggested retail of 1,999.95 each. I dunno how those people got ahold of the tires...but I really hope we don't see EVERYONE with them by next season.

From what Ive heard, Enjuku got their original sets from Kuhmo for the Formula D competition, but due to the fact that Falken Tires is a huge event sponsor and these new colored smoke tires are taking the "wind outta their sails" they, along with Formula D, have outlawed them because they are not a full-on production number tire. So to counter this, Kuhmo is rebadging them and doing a good production run of them to get them back into the Formula D competition.

People have compared Drifting to Motorsports in the same way as Wrestling is to Boxing. Then to see things like colored tire smoke its hard to argue otherwise...

Wow... Welcome to shut the F up. Wanna play?
A. Falken has nothing to worry about, Kumho's drivers weren't consistently in the top 16. How come you didn't mention Yokohama or Cooper? I don't think any of the tire companies were phased. Its a gimmick and it certainly didn't help in the points standing.
B. They were outlawed by the Formula D organizers, not competitors or other companies. FD org. didn't want companies to concentrate resources and money to developing new colors to "out do" the red tires, so just outlaw them alltogether unless they can offer them at resonable prices and not exclusively through Enjuku at $2000 a pop.
C. Yeah i guess it was technically legal to have the tires, but at the end of the day, "put up or shut up." Red smoke doesn't make drifting better, imo it makes it more lame, its all gimmicky and team stupid town, usa.
H. Enjuku guys are my friends, but the red tires weren't really helping them, it was like... lot of money, lot of money lot of money... ok?

Well Kuhmo is a Korean company and I'm not surprised to see them available on some cars over there.

Why don't you shut the Fuck up? You aren't gods gift to drifting. Stop harassing other members about what they are doing wrong.

I'm not critiqueing his driving or ripping on his skills, i'm stating facts about what actually happened and not some BS speculation fucking X-Files conspiracy story.
God's only gift to drifting is Hariguchi.
I'm sponsored by Falken (Drift Alliance) and I can assure you they couldn't give two shits about the red smoke, certainly not enough to "force" (haha, like they are the Godfather or something) Formula D into anything.
Remember that time Nick, Motorsports director from Falken was over at my house for that party and we had this discussion... oh, my bad, you don't know what I'm talking about? Maybe YOU should shut the fuck up, you aren't God's gift to arguing and stop harrassing members about what they know and you don't.

First you go after DriftFactory for what they are doing to their project car. Now you go after evilimport for not having his facts exactly right. Calm down dude. You're the one that is harassing members and advertisers.
If a tire salesman coming over to your house is the highlight of you life so be it.

I'm bluntly stating obvious shit to people who aren't stupid. If its hard to understand... maybe take time and ponder whether you know as much as you think you do.
Some guy publically posted (and didn't mention anything about speculation, just passed it off as fact) that Falken made Formula D outlaw red smoke tires. That is bullshit, and the fact that I'm sponsored by Falken and personally know some of the staff and team makes me want to chime in and defend them. Honestly, go dig up the hundreds of tires i've gone through and you'll see even without a sponsorship, they were already mostly ST115s.
Drift Factory... Totally unrelated of you to bring up, but they are INSTALLING SIMPLE PARTS ON THEIR CAR AND THEY ARE TAKING FOREVER AND ARE TOTALLY MAKING HUGE DEALS ABOUT IT. IMO its wicked annoying. Plus they have their own contorted ideas about building a drift car (newsflash, they've never built one before) and I have my own ideas about how i build cars, and sometimes we don't see eye to eye. That and the fact that they, also, pass some stuff off as fact that is entirely false.

Red smoke doesn't make drifting better
Neither does having bass-boat flaked paint, strobes, neons, tireflys, or any other showy thing drifters tend to do to their cars. It makes it more entertaining.

Touche, Mr. Mestophilios. I think after a couple runs it gets kinda old though...
Entertaining to me is: Scraping teh wall with your wing and nothing else, scraping the wall with your back bumper and never lifting off the gas, dirt drops, 3-wheel dirt drops, close team tandem, front locks, and insan-o speed.
Red tires fall under gimmicks. THat's just my book.
Falsely accusing Falken falls under my book of misinformation and conjecture.

Conjecture! Shit thats a word even I don't understand he must be telling the truth.
Can't we moderate on zilvia yet?
i'm currently looking into a set of very blue HID's...why? because i'm a ricer and i like them
and they'll make me drift better

No, we are bigger assholes than Kevin. Maybe they need to let us "share" a mod. name and we can alternate, but its really only "one" moderator.

Not unrelated in that you love to come and bash everything that you don't approve of for one reason or another. The real question is why do you care? What difference does it make that we take awhile to do our car. It's not like we have a Business to run or anything. If you find our installs trivial than don't read them. They are for people that can use them and may not know how to do some of these things. I talk to these people every day on the phone. Are they stupid because they don't know how to do something? No, they are just starting to learn and they deserve to be treated with respect. We are not making a big deal out of anything, YOU are. We are just posting our installs and leaving it at that. Our idea of building a drift car is not contorted just because you don't agree with it and even though we have not built any other cars as a company, we were building cars long before the company existed.
Also, we do not spread misinformation. You may not agree with everything we do to OUR car, but if everyone does things the same way, there is no innovation and everyone would be walking around like fanboys spouting things like dorifto this and that and driving cars that all look and drive the same.

I'm putting an end to this Public Pissing Contest. DoriftoSlut, EvilImport, and DriftFactory, if you have a problem with each other please take care of it like adults and solve it amongst yourselves. No more attacks on Zilvia.net from anyone.
