I picked these up today for like $1.43 for 16 of them. I heard you can use these just as well as any aftermarket retainer. I was also thinking of painting them some wild color too.

I don't know exactly, but they are really tough. I've tried to bend them with my hand a few times and no dice.

They sell little springs that would work for your car at lowes too. Its like 30cent a piece. Thatll give you a killer valvetrain setup.

some performance honda's use generic washers in their valvetrains...seriously.
H22 LMA is cheaper and has more travel than the B-series LMA, but it is .4mm (i think 1/8") shorter, so people space it up with 1/8" (precision) stainless washers :hs:

And last time I checked, some "performance hondas" also had wings on upside down and facing the wrong direction for performance.

^^^ dont be a cock because some Nissans have some oh you useful stuff too. Every car manufacturer out there has people who buy their shit and rice it out since APC offers everything/anything for every car on the planet. He is talking about real performance cars, let it be true or not I have no idea. But the point is that just because its Honda doesnt mean its crap. OFFTOPIC BUT THIS TOPIC DOESNT MATTER ANYWAY

I'll be the first to admit that there are nice hondas out there. But Chances are that those parts he mentioned are made by performance companies. Now whether or not they are the exact same thing repriced and named I don't know. I'm just stating that monkey see isn't always what monkey should do.

while ur at it.. you should look into replacing your exhaust with a custom PVC exhaust. 3 inch pvc piping is a lot cheaper than stainless steel and its lighter too!!! no welding required.. just get a bunch of elbows and attachments and voila. Hella sick exhaust
DO IT!!!

LMAO, thats a good idea. Home Depot is having a sale this weekend. I was also thinking of getting them to sponsor my car. That'd be sick!

I never would use a "washer" as a retainer for several reasons. One a retainer has a large surface area for mating properly with the keepers. A washer has about 10% of that. Retainers are hardened washers are not. Retainers are designed not to bend. Your washer will eventually sink in the middle. i've seen washers used to raise the base to create a higher seat pressure but that's only because they were to cheap to afford proper spring seat spacers. I believe that's what the hondas are doing and not replacing the retainer with a washer but using one as a spacer. The retainer also keeps the spring centered parallel to the valve stem to prevent sideloading conditions. If you run those you will ruin your guides and drop about 8 valves in a matter of minutes but please take before and after photos for us. Maybe some video. :eek3d:

Does no one realize that it was a joke... First off a retianer has to have an area for the valve keepers. He would try to install those and the valves and springs would never stay in..
WOW. this goes to show how much you people actually know..

The power to read can do wonder to ones self, because if you took the five seconds to scroll down you would've read that.
