I am having a few problems with a seller on ebay and would like to get some outside opinions on the matter.

I bought a carbon fiber overlayed fuse box cover for my s14. I had found it on ebay and the photo shown gave the appearence that the lay is good and the seam looks well done and clean.

Seeing as there is only one photo, my first mistake was not asking for more photos or further questioning the quality of the part. I have owned 2 different CF hoods for my car and dealt with a few smaller CF parts; I didn't expect a $25 part to be the greatest show quality piece, but i expect the quality to be within reason.

Yesterday I arrive home to find the cover had arrived. I opened the package and was dissapointed in what I found. Several places the weave is not sealed to the cover; The CF itself was cut poorly to clear around the mouting tabs.

Below are some pictures I took today of the flaws.

I believe that my main frustration is a result of the poor quality of the part and his attitude towards customer service. I researched some of his other auctions and parts and it seems that he is capable of quality work. It shows that this part probaly did not receive the time and attention it should have.

I decided to send an email to the seller letting him know of my disatisfaction. Below is the message that was sent.

I am greatful that he has been prompt to respond every email thus far. Here is his response..(A partial amount of his address was blurred for privacy)

My response..

His response, and also the most recent email. I have yet to respond, I want to take a bit of time to collect myself and some opinions. I am amazed at the 'customer service' I am receiving..

Again, I can truly blame myself for not having done better research before buying, but i am in this situation now and would like to hear opinions. I feel as though he is blackmailing me for good feedback; stating that once i return the item and leave positive feedback I will have my refund.

My question to all of you is, am I being rediculous in not accepting the quality of this part? Any suggestions on what to do is highly appreciated.

Thanks, sorry for the long post.

leave him his good feedback, get your money back. then go balls out. if at all possible, report to ebay. leave another feedback response that includes the entire storyline. how you were "blackmaled" into leaving good feedback so that you in turn, could collect your money back. just something to consider i suppose. good luck with that.

Both of you are being RIDICULOUS and you should just give him good feedback, til' he gives you your money back, then put up a fat negative feedback, letting everyone know how bad of a business he conducts, and how shady he is with returns. Remember caviat emptor. Let others know of his crappy quality, and his poor customer service. Plus, you'll have your money back!

It looks fantastic in the eBay auction except for the INCREDIBLE WAVINESS on the left side.

You missed it. Not only did you buy a pointless product, but you also missed a very obvious flaw that was pictured in the original auction.

Suck up the $24 and leave the negative feedback if you want.
