It's been totally stripped and all the parts are waiting to go on the shell I just bought yesterday. The rims were on it for 3 days.

Wow, that looks like it was quite an impact! Just look at your mangled strut bar! Sorry for your loss, but on a brighter note I'm loving the roll cage you had. Am I correct when I assume it's custom?

thats the power of a rollcage at work guys!

ae86driftn
09-08-2005, 10:37 PM
The rollcage was a Cusco six point, I welded the extra X piece in the back and then had it powder coated.
Yeah also had the Cusco OS rear triangle strut bar in the back.
Wheels are 5zigen FN's 17x9 +15, 17x10 +12, close.

Hate to say it,but I pretty much spun out in the rain and hit a dump truck. Please don't give me anymore shit bout me being a dumbass, I've already got enough of it. I know becuase I loved that car more than anything. Please don't think it was my first rwd car either, I've had three S13's (all with sr's) and a AE86. but here's what happened

Pretty simple. It was raining, two lane road with parking on both sides with nothing but big rigs, mack trucks, dump trucks on it(Industrial area). I decide to get on it a little from 1st to 2nd. When I hit second the backend kick out on me and spun me almost 180. While the car was turned around it skidded at about a 45 degree angle toward the other side of the road where it hit the front corner of the dump truck(parked). Kinda of stupid of me to get on it in the rain, when I only had the rims and tires on for three days, and I was not use to them being in the rain. Plus the car only had liabity so I didn't call the cops, cause all I would have got was a reckless driving ticket. That's pretty much it. Time to rebuild......

tires looked streched, fisrt time i streched a set it was hard to get used to in the rain.

Your right, they are not from Katrina. I have never seen the pic so I was just blabbering. Besides that tree looks like one from the west coast, cali or washington. A "red wood" or something like that, what ever those big ass pine trees are called.

Well his is "reinforced" with an X-Brace.....

justinhustle
09-09-2005, 10:39 AM
the rear wasnt ever an issue with the cusco cage

its always the added 2 front points on the 6 point...those buckle/bend/break

OUch...Good that your OK.
What kind of tires did you have?

Umm.. the cage wasn't even really in the impace zone.. The cusco cage has no door bars.

MakotoS13
09-09-2005, 12:22 PM
yeah i dont see that cage preventing much damage unless you actually roll over.

justinhustle
09-09-2005, 12:26 PM
you people realize the front roof is mashed down right?

and the cusco bar across the sunvisor area is slightly bent, but not broken?

obviously it impacted in the accident

and the front 2 point bars into the dash area and above the doors arent broken or barely bent as far as i can see

i would assume if the cage wasnt installed, the whole roof wouldve caved in, like it did around it

ranisron

good investment in the roll cage!

MakotoS13
09-09-2005, 03:56 PM
seeing as how he didn't roll i highly doubt it aided in keeping him safe in this instance.

not to mention the fact that the Xbrace significantly improves it's structural rigitidy.

OUch...Good that your OK.
What kind of tires did you have?

The tires were Falken azensis st115....

I think I forgot to mention that there was a passenger. He had no major injuires. I don't care what yall say...the cage aided a little in the accident. But the cage was not really meant to withstand a sideways accident like the one I had....

Johny5
09-10-2005, 04:53 PM
yeah, if only....

then not only would his roof be collapsed but so would his rollcage, good call you fucking genious.

hey dude glad to see you're ok, i feel much more satisfied with my cusco 6pt now and some of the bars that my welders adding in the back sometime in the upcoming months.
