I just put an S14 SR20DET with VVT in my 89' S13, of course I plan to crank up the boost (maybe even a bigger turbo). So, Im wondering if the S14 FMIC like say from Greddy would fit the S13 body.. I know the piping is different because the S14 intake manifold sits higher up than the s13sr20. I was just wondering if that was the only difference?

As you said, the piping is different between the S13 and S14. Also the FMIC mounting brackets are different. You buy the piping kit to match the engine and the intercoolers are very universal. When you order the kit, you should be able to specify S14 in an S13 chassis, and they should hook you up with the right S13 FMIC mounting brackets. Although we don't advertise the kits at this price, I can provide the Hybrid bar and plate intercooler with S14 piping kit and S13 intercooler mounting brackets for $500 delivered to anywhere in the continental US. Same setup with the Hybrid GTSpec intercooler is $600. Email

listen up....i have an s14 sr in my 93 coupe and i have the gt spec intercooler w/the s14 piping kit. when it was installed the there was no prob. w/fitment other that the fact that the intercooler was mounted first and then the holes were cut out for the piping(from what i understand this is backward from a normal installation) and i had to have custom "brackets" made. I bought it all from hipro and I am very pleased w/this product. Lmk if you want some crude pics and when I'm not drunk I will take some.
