So im trying to remove my pressure power steering line on my 92 S13 because the other one is shot. Anyways, i was able to get the top of the line free (where it attaches to the pump ), but i cannot for the life of me get the bottom of the line off. The part im talking about is the block that is threaded onto the metal tubing pipe at the other end of the pressure line. Ive tried just about everything and cannot get it loose and i dont want to strip the tightening bolt completly. So im wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if there are any tricks to it? Also, if i do strip the 14mm bolt attaching the two pipes, can i replace it without replacing the metal pipe?

Any info would be great. Ive searched and looked through the repair manual and have found nothing.

thanks

Use a "Flare Nut Wrench".

SK is a pretty good brand. Don't buy anything made in China(No offense), cause they suck, and will strip your bolts. Buy a USA made tool, and they'll last you long enough to do the job(usually).

I just googled "flare nut wrench" and that's the pic that popped up.

thanks,

thats exactly what ive been using, just a craftsmen one, but it is starting to strip the bolt. Is there any way to replace that bolt, or do i have to replace that entire metal pipe?

You would have to replace the pipe. Go back to sears, and exchange your wrench and go from there. If worse comes use a vice grip to remove it. Unless you want to cut off the line, and apply a socket.
