Exhaust Sound Clip Gallery:

Well I was gauging interest in a Sound clip library for different exhausts. I figure everybody always wants to know what a certain muffler with what cams/turbo/etc sounds like. So wanna start one?

FORMAT:

What Year/Car:
Turbo/NA:
-IF TURBO, then DOWNPIPE:
Exhaust Piping diameter:
What type of muffler:
Cats/No Cats:
Engine work (Cams, Bottom End, Head):

RECORD EXHAUST FROM IDLE TO REDLINE and maybe some flyby's or in car sounds to get a good judge of how this thing sounds.

Also if you have it a dyno of each exhaust to maybe help smooth out how much a exhaust will actually yield (I know not everybody has one, but it's nice to see)

Well that's a rough format to use, but well maybe it'll help people with what type of exhaust to put on their cars.

Clips with proper format or requests only. No useless banter or comments!

i got got custom setup with the Aspec products brand universal muffler
from catback 2.5inch piping with resonator.
its great! sounds awsome... not to loud with a deep good sound
hers a sound/video clip of it on my car...its small

the problem with exhaust clips is that there all recorded my some crappy camera with out an external mic. On the louder exhausts you can hear the mic pre clip..and that sounds like crap. Another problem is that it doesn't tell you how loud it is just how it sounds (and even that is not that accurate). For instance. I have the #3 on that page. A Blitz Realize TT. It sounds similar to the clip, but the clip makes it sound much louder.

what would be a nice addition to the first post's format would be a C wieighted spl measurment . ex. 98db [email protected] feet or something

Ok, thanks for the link. Here's what I got

#2 = RSR GT2
#5,6,10,11,16 = HKS... Probably Hi-Power
#8 = Apexi... Probably N1 Single
#21 = Masa...

I wish they had more, with better quality. I hate how some rev high but some kind of half-ass it, and you can't tell really what it sounds like. Also this helps, but doesn't do much for the KA guys...

Here's a video of my S14 with ExMag on the dyno. link (http://www.engr.uconn.edu/~dap02010/uc3dyno%20017.avi) Pretty boring, but it gives some idea of what it sounds like even though there are already a few clips of it on an NA KA out there. The only mods I have are the exhaust and a 3" Catco cat.

I don't have any stock baselines so I can't comment on any number gains, but whoever asked for it (two months ago when this thread was made), there ya go lol.

That exmag on a stock KA don't sound half bad at all. Doesn't sounding dronning either. It's loud but not annoying and obnoxiously loud.
