So I'm happily making my way to the parking structure exit when I get caught behind a big ol' pathfinder... So I stop about a car length behind and to the right (passenger) side of it.
I noticed its back up lights, so I wondered what they were doing... as they neared me (half a car length) I honked, but still they didn't stop.
Before I had time to throw it in reverse (and bang the guy up behind me,) she'd already taken out my whole fender, drivers headlight, and hood with her rear passenger side bumper/spare wheel "bar" thing. OUCH.
Finally she stops, just before my side mirror. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>

Soooooo we get out (in the rain) and exchange numbers 'cause she's going to class. GRreeeeeeeaaat. So now my hood won't close (I popped it to check for structural damage... my front bumper thingy's somewhat pressed into the fender side frame?... from the headlight being pushed back/in.)

Same thing happened to me on my last day of HS. Stupid girl in a pickup (with the fat chrome bumpers) backs into my Mercedes, I was all the way out of my spot and about to go straight but people were walking so i couldn't. I look back and here comes the truck..... I honk and honk and honk and she's keeps coming..... and the people are still in front of me....... shit <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':crazy:'> .....she runs into my passanger rear quarter pannel, right above the wheel well..... i go out to survey the damage, my hub cap fell off, no biggie, there's about a 1/2 inch dent in the lip of my fender........ it was like 105 degrees out so i wanted to get home...... she offered to pay for damage but i just said forget it... went home and tried to pound the dent out.... Dang Mercedes steel is hecka hard..... took me 2 hours and i didn't get it completely out... no paint chip though so it's okay.

Well she called back and basically said "get 3 quotes from body shops, and give us the price!"
so... *sigh* off I go to the body shops.

The difference here, black fox, is that you had a poundable dent w/ no paint scratches... I have no paint left on my fender, a gash/dent about 1 1/2 feet long, no drivers side headlight (well, it points directly up to the sky.... "IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?") a bent hood and a scratched up front bumper.

Nice! I've only seen a couple other 240s at school, notably a black S14 in PSD and another black one (lowered) that parks apparently randomly around campus. Not to mention a few S13s in PSD and PSX... oh wait, and one blue S14 in PSA last semester. That one was somewhat fixed up.

The exact same thing happened to grant and he got a quote for $900, fixed it himself(you can't even tell it was damaged), but then he had to spend most of the money on a tranny.

I know the situation sucks and all but look at the bright BRIGHT side. Shes hot...and you have her #. Now go get a bunch of quotes for the damage...Then add on about 1000 dollars. Hahaha... SR20fastback I like the suggestion, and to be honest, something of that nature'd crossed my mind before. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'> but I don't think I could bring myself down to that level!! *lol* That was a good laugh though.

It seems like I'll end up doing 3 things:

1/ Getting a quote from Nissan for a new hood, bumper, fender and headlight (plus little misc. things that got broken) ----- this should give me a really EXPENSIVE number, especially after factoring in installation costs

2/ Going to a shop like Signal Auto and getting a silvia front end conversion quote + fixture of any broken pieces ----- this should be another EXPENSIVE quote...

3/ Going to a shady repair shop that is likely to quote me a SCAM price for the repair... this will also lead to a rather large number.


That said, I could also opt to take the "honorable" choice, that is, finding prices for parts and then doing the install myself -- and just charging for the parts. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Or finding a reputable, cheap (relatively) repair guy to do the work. But that just wouldn't be fun! No remuneration 'for my troubles' ?! Get real!
