I checked tirerack.com survey results and even though there in two diff categories the re950's seem to have higher ratings. price will be around 360 inc. tax. for either one. size is be 205/60/15 i dont like low profile especially for downtown driving in sf. ill be getting them by friday so any input or suggestion wich i should go with is appreciated. tnx

the only reason why i would consider AVSs is because they tend to have a stiffer sidewall, but seeing as how your gonna get 60 series, it defeats the purpose of considering them anyway...thats just me tho...i would either go with the ST115s or the FK451s

Oh! I need new tires too and was considering these brands as well. So who's go the best price on these?

Would definitely like local pickup so I can go straight to a tire shop to get these mounted on my rims.

I would like something with good treadwear and will last long --- these would be my "daily drivers" and I'd like to get something reasonable out of these tires -- 45k to 60k miles. Is that possible with either of these?

I have RE950's now (but only 5,000 miles) in the few months that I've had 'em. I fear I'll lose them to UV/sun exposure rather than use lately...

Hey vqnissan415, I'll see you my set for $450, they would be attached to a set of 7-spoke alloys too (4-lug). :bigok:

Also -- How about Ebay tires? Most are 70% (or higher, low of 50%) tread left. I would use these only as my spares for drift events. Anyone have any experiences w/ ebay tire sellers?

you want treadwear, get some passenger tires, with some 400+ rating

people hate on em, but falken ziex 512 last pretty long and have decent (sorta) performance

ebay tires, i dunno, try to find someone local or make friends with a local tire shop. theyd rather give you free tires to take away than have to pay the disposal fee.

tnx Agent_S13 but i already have 7 spoke alloys ( i assume factory) and im on my last drop of tread on my s03's. im more leaning towards the re950's, how did they do for the 5k miles u had them?

costco- re950's 90$/tire, free mounting, lifetime rotation, warranty is kik ass. :yum:

ES100's if i end up getting these itll be most likely from vision performance on noriega. they got cool service good prices.
but without any warranty. they quoted something like 360 incl. all taxes w/shipping i think

A lot of people hate the Kumho 712's but for a mostly daily driven car I like em. Get some beater rims, throw them on with the kumho's, and get some S03's, Neova's (or whatever performance tires you like) for the track wheels. It costs more up front but over time you'll definitely be saving more money.

Haha Yeah, OEM alloys. I'm upgrading to 16's and don't need these anymore.

Of course, I knew performance tires don't last 45k miles... I can only dream right? :ghey:

I will probably end up buying the 16' RE950's since they're done quite well... I bus/BART it up to the city so the car sits 5 days a week, only gets driven on weekends really. No complaints about the tire and still looking good. I believe I paid $388 out the door for my 15' RE950's including all that stuff from Costco. I just couldn't beat that price.

Too bad 16's are even more at $130/each...

We'll see, I'm not in too much of a rush.

I wouldn't mind befriending a tireshop but I got a lot (5-6) of 15' tires for $30/each including mounting/balancing but the tread was horrible... like 10% left. I'd like to get more tread, but then again... its always a crapshoot w/ used tires.

My search continues... as well as vqnissan415's. :coold:
